Forums - Sports - The NFL Thread 2011: New York Giants Win Super Bowl XLVI

^^^^same thing in our football, defenders get booked for making good tackles.the authorities act like defending isn't a part of the game and have seem to forgotten it is a contact sport, just because someone falls over it doesn't mean it is a foul

if they sanitise the big sports too much it will eventually cost them ,i think

Tebow has to have divine intervention. Why else would Bears to everything in their power to not let the clock run out/down so late in the 4th quarter and then couple that with a loss in OT even though you got the ball first.

Three close losses for the injured Bears where they could of had wins.

Ugh ... desperately need to win 2 of last 3 games to even have a chance at a wildcard spot.

Simple.

The Bears are like everyone here in Denver .

They believe !!!!!!!!

Can't wait to see Tebow vs Patriots next week ;)

Stats of the day :

The Packers have never been behind their opponent at the start of the 4th quarter.

The Tebow led broncos have never been ahead of their opponent at the start of the 4th quarter ;)

I'ts over bro.  Wait 'til next year.  They need to win all three now and that wouldn't guarantee anything.

I am so upset that I'm not doing my Monday morning stuff.  It's too late to do anyway since  it's already the afternoon.

Well done outlaw.  Well done.

Thank you, thank you!

To some credit, the league has turned into a passing league where a run first offense is nearly non-existant.

so do NFl temas basically give up when they can't make the palyoffs and do teams go easy if they have already made it into the playoffs and rest big players

i'd like to know for my picks, are they still playing for money and pride or do they have one foot in the titty bars already

it depends.

A few years ago teams like the Colts use to go easy once they were in but I doubt that's going to be the case with any team this year.

The only team at this point that could rest players is the Packers and it ain't going to happen as they are going for 16-0.

No other team can yet rest players even if they wanted as the final playoff picture isn't clear yet ( no clear lead on AFC byes, and the Saints can still catch the 49ers for the second NFC bye week).

As for the bad teams, none of them are going to give up as a lot of coachs are playing for their jobs.

Things  might change the last week when the picture gets clearer but expect every team to play 100% next week-end...

How 'bout dem Texans!

Going to the playoffs for the first time EVER.
No Andre Johnson and a 3rd string rookie QB and we're still winning!

ok thanks for that,i'm surpised the packers would go full pelt if they already have it in the bag but i guess 16-0 is worth trying for,as you say the colts blew mannings chance of a clean sweep didn't they i seem to remember at the time,i still don't understand that,if i am right in remebering of course

Oh hells yeah!!!    I had faith in them from day one as I thought the Broncos would compleatly blow the season with Orton and it almost happened. Love Kubiak's style of offense as it looks just like the Broncos of a decade ago. A style that can win. Sadly, I hardly ever get to see them play as they show different teams in the Denver area. Mile High salute to them.
