Also, I can't believe that Denver waved their best QB especially when on his radio show, John Elway came out and said point blank that Tebow is not the answer at QB for the Broncos. I hope that the Bears can claim Kyle Orton off of waivers. We like him in Chicago and don't chant for another guy when he throws for 20 yard completions.

Well John shouldn't talk as that loser had a worse passer rating than Tebow thru the same amount of games. Yeah, Orton would be good at matching Cutler in the interception department so Bears fans wouldn't know the difference.

But John Elway actually threw passes that looked like NFL passes, even if they were inaccurate.  I would like you to look up how many picks Cutler has had this year.  It's not many.  You can have your Tebow.  As a Bears fan, I have seen numerous guys that can't throw a pass straight and if you want a guy like that then good for you.  I know that it's cool to dislike Orton in Denver now, but not too long ago he won 6 games in a row there, remember?

The Bears put in a claim for him,  just have to wait and see if they get him.

I didn't forget, but the thing is he is a boring safe player normally. After winning those six games, he also then helped the team collapse and they did not make the playoffs. Not to mention Denver fans hate him because of the most recent season in which it was Denver's worst ever. Last year I was going against Denvey anyways because I was so pissed at ex Coach Josh McDaniels for destroying the team. I do not believe Tebow is the answer for sure, but I love to see them win and that is what he has done so far. The last one was ugly, but I have to say as long as he wins people will be happy and not care how ugly it is. John Elway helped pick Tebow so he deserves some blame for Tebow being here in the first place. The funny thing when Tebow almost single handedly won the against the Jets in that last drive John sat there with an expression of disbelief. Tebow shocks everyone and as long as he is in Denver I think the team is funner to watch than boring Orton.

Also I will edit in your picks into my post because I am a nice guy like that.

Sometimes I prefer safe to exciting.  I always liked the safe Orton to the risky Grossman.  I thought that the losing in Denver had more to do with the entire team than Orton.  To be honest, he put up really good numbers last year.  When he played for the Bears he also was known as a "boring" player, but with a decent team boring usually wins.  Check his win/loss record before leaving Chicago.

About Tebow, I actually hope that one day he learns to throw the ball properly because he has a lot of guts, but that will only take you so far in the NFL.  The problem with him is if the Broncos fall a couple of touchdowns down they are done because he rarely completes passes (look at the game against the Lions).  Sure, he can run people over like a bulldozer at the end of the game when the defense is tired for one drive, but that's asking a lot of the defense to keep the game within a touchdown until the 4th.

Thank you.  You are a good man that knows who Lanny McDonald is.

The fact is  that Denver has a long memory and they still remember Elway.  So they are not satisfied with a boring Quarterback. The only thing that will change this is if Denver has success with a boring safe Quarterback like Orton. Since Elway retired we haved not come close to winning with a boring quarterback. Griese did okay, but never excelled and was not boring. Cutler was never boring, but McDaniels and him had a personality conflict and the city lost out because McDaniels stayed and Cutler left. It is foolish to blame any teams succes compleatly on the qb,  but that is how it is usually done by the media and fans. As I have said in talks with insomniac and in this thread we both know that Denver is winning now because the defense has improved over the early course of the season.

Tebow has not been tested in a two touchdown game yet, this season other than against the chargers when he almost won it, while Orton was losing it bad. This guy plays the best under pressure and I believe he has the ability to comeback in the 2nd half down two scores.  Tebow also is messing up now due to lack of confidence in his passing game. If he can manage to gain it back he might do better. Time will tell. The one thing there is no denying is almost every week he has been the most talked about player in football. He is exciting and only he and the rest of the team can prove how good they really are.

Looks like the chiefs will end up with Orton as they put in a claim as well.

Alot of good matchups here! Will be an exciting week.

So, I saw the Chiefs game on Monday. Ouch. That was rough. Looks like they picked up Orton though, and I think he can do well for them... though I don't understand Denver releasing him when so many teams are looking for a decent/good QB to temporarily replace a starter. Especially when so many of those teams are teams that have another game with Denver.

About the Orton/Tebow thing, I felt bad for Orton when people booed him last year and chanted for Tebow. I do think he's a good solid QB. But at the same time, I think that a big reason why people disliked him was McDaniels. He just decimated the Denver defense, and that really hurt us. Orton did have a pretty good year, but when your defense can't play, it won't matter in the end. I'm not sorry to see Orton go because I think he deserves better than what he got here in Denver.

Elway/Tebow: I think that Elway shouldn't have said what he did in the way that he did. That doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the starting QB who's won three games straight. (Yes, he has a lot to work on and the defense is a large part of that, but honestly, since Tebow became the starter, the entire team has played better.) But at the same time, all those people who are insulting Elway because of it are just dumb. I don't blame Elway for not committing to Tebow yet. Tebow needs work. He still needs to improve. And he has been. But it would be foolish of Elway to commit to him so soon, and for people to insult him... Well, Elway proved that he's a great QB. Tebow still has a way to go. At the same time, I'd like him to stay. He makes the games more exciting, I think he can be great, and he's taken a 1-4 team and led them back to 5-5. Denver has played much better on the whole in the last five games since he took over, and I think he's a large part of that. He's a leader.

Lions/Packers game: I'm peeved that I'm gonna miss this game. I won't have access to a TV, and I bet this'll be a really fun game to watch.

The Chiefs wind up with Kyle Orton. This is a good move on their part considering that I, earlier in this thread, claimed that he's better than Matt Cassell. One thing's for sure, he's definitely better than Tyler Palko.
