Looks like I am going to be 5-2 on the first batch of games. I knew that Jets vs. Bills was nothing more than me hoping for the best, but the Chiefs getting slaughtered by the Dolphins is a real surprise.

The AFC west has been mostly only average for several years with only San Diego shining at times. Miami seems like a team that still wants to win every week even if they know they have no chance at the playoffs. Some how they are keeping a semi-positive spirit in the locker room and still trying every week.

Sucks I am stuck watching the Cowbells stomp the Seahawks. Not very exciting.

Edit: Never mind every game seems like a blowout now except the cowbells vs Seahawks.

The Chiefs came off a four games winning streak and played against a team that had not won a single game this season. It's just unbelievable how a team that fought its way back after a 0-3 start would throw away the gains they've made so easily.

Well, for you as a Broncos fan it's a good thing, because you can still hope for dumb luck and everything playing out in favor of your team. If the Broncos win (possible) and the Chargers lose (probable), all AFC West teams are going to have similar records (4-4 and 3-5). In a division like this everything seems to be possible.

It is surprising about the Cheifs, but some teams just go from hot to cold and do not stay consistant. That is the way the AFC West has usually been lately. I saw Miami the last two weeks and in both games they played hard especially in the first half.

You should be going for the Broncos since there are several of them keeping the conversation going. :P

Yeah, what about those Dolphins? I like rooting for the underdogs, but I wasn't expecting much. Man did the Chiefs fall apart. Good for Miami!

What a win for the Broncos! The game started out rough, but what a way to end the game. Both teams made some really awful mistakes, but the Raiders Defense just completely choked in the fourth quarter. 38-24

Couldn't ask for a better day of football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Denver defeats Oakland  shutting up their crowd with mile high salutes. Tebow proves he is a warrior being bloodied up rushing the way to victory with Mcghee also rushing up a storm. Tebow can win if his offensive line actually protects him like they did in the 2nd half. Next up the Chefs.

San Diego loses and the Chefs lose. WOW!!!

The Packers barely stay undefeated... I still think they are vulnerable on defense and will probably lose eventually.

Dom Capers is the most overrated defensive coordinator in the league. Gates is by far Rivers' favorite target and you put nothing but linebackers on him for the majority of the game and expect it to work. Good thing we have a quarterback who makes ridiculous throws week after week to make up for our embarrassing defense.

The commentators were talking about Capers' trap coverage or something and praising the Packers defense for their two interception return touchdowns early in the game. Too bad that aside from these highlights there wasn't much else too speak of. They hardly ever managed to force the Chargers to punt. With such a defense, the offense is obligated to keep scoring, otherwise it won't end well.

The one weakness of the Packers offense is the lack of a reliable running game. They can't control the clock like other teams, so Rodgers needs to keep passing and that has the risk of incompletions that stop the clock or worse, interceptions.

I will give Capers credit for incredible route recognition in the secondary, especially on that Williams TD. Why people try to run out routes against the Packers at this point is beyond me. Woodson and Williams jump on those all day long and there've been numerous returns for TDs going back to last season off of them. Williams looked like he broke 10 yards behind the receiver for that interception.

Aside from that, the blitzes normally never get to the QB, and the secondary doesn't really cover all that well. The run defense is solid, but giving up third down and long consistently every week is getting beyond annoying for me to watch now.

Here goes my Monday morning stuff again:

SF 19 Was 11 Message to Mike Shanahan: John Beck is 0-7 as a starter in the NFL. Need I say more? The 49ers just keep winning. What a great story they are so far.

Cle 12 Hou 30 The Texans record is about where it is at this time every year. Let's see if they can not have the late season slide this time and make the playoffs. I feel for the Cleveland fans. I really do.

TB 16 NO 27 The Saints decide to show up this week. Drew Brees has thrown for over 3,000 yards in nine games. Yes, that is a NFL record. He has a completion rate of over 75%. With all due respect to Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, Drew is currently the best QB in the NFL.

Mia 31 KC 3 Congratulations Dolphins. You played hard and blew out the Chiefs. Maybe it's time to change the name of the AFC West to the AFC Worst.

NYJ 27 Buf 11 I watched this game and the Jets looked very impressive. They looked very balanced and might be coming together at the right time to get to the AFC Championship and lose again. Let's see if the Bills can shake this off and stay in the playoff race.

Sea 13 Dal 23 It wasn't a great win for the Cowboys, but a win is a win and I'm sure that they'll take it. I know that the Seahawks won the NFC West last year, but I don't think that Pete Carroll is a NFL coach. It's okay, Lou Holtz wasn't either.

Cin 24 Ten 17 The Bengals have their first 5 game winning streak since 1988. They also are first in the AFC North. They also would currently be the #1 seed in the AFC. They also have 3 of their next 4 games against teams named the Steelers and the Ravens. These next four weeks will show if they are a contender or a pretender. Regardless of this, I know to show them more respect than Rol does.

Den 38 Oak 24 Tim Tebow's stats: 124 passing yards and 117 rushing yards. Still he gets the win. To be honest, I'm cheering for this guy since so many want him to fail. Carson Palmer has a great stat line until you get to the 3 picks. He's good enough to lose, just like in Cincinnati.

NYG 24 NE 20 Eli Manning is having a great year. I hope that he starts to step out of his brother's shadow. The media has been unnecessarily hard on him because he's not his brother. The Patriots lose two in a row and Brasdy's 31 game home win streak ends. I love it!

GB 45 SD 38 The Packers are starting to remind me of the Kurt Warner led Rams. Their lack of a defense forces their phenomenal offense to score a million points a game. It makes the QB's margin for error minimal in a track meet like this one. The Chargers honestly had a chance at victory and lost the game because of Philip River's two pick sixes.

StL 13 Ari 19 OT The Rams won last week because they said that they were inspired by the Cardinal's World Series victory. This week they can't defeat the Cardinals.

Bal 23 Pit 20 Joe Flacco leads the Ravens on a 92 yard drive to win the game. Shockingly (to me), they swept the Steelers this year. The AFC North is turning out to be very interesting this year.

I have no idea what's going to happen tonight. I hope that the Bears win though. Go Bears!
