Forums - Sports - The NFL Thread 2011: New York Giants Win Super Bowl XLVI

The Raiders have lost their minds. Not only have they given up two high draft picks for Palmer, but they are going to start him this week. He can't possibly know the playbook. As a matter of fact, when he did know it the last few years in Cincinnati he was awful. The Raiders would have been better off swinging a deal for Kyle Orton. While not great, he's better than the woeful Palmer.

Who is their backup?

Is it still Vince Evans?

I just looked it up. It's Kyle "the guy that got Brian Billick fired" Boller. Maybe Carson Palmer is a better option.

Seriously though, at least Boller knows the plays (I think).

All I've ever seen potheads accomplish is throwing down an entire bag of potato chips down their throat, eat milk and cereal out of a cup, and live their entire lives in boxer shorts. I don't see how it could be an advatage to any athelete.

Lulz, it probably wouldn't give an advantage, but it is less harmful to the body if not smoked than traumatizing the liver with binge drinking. Drinking excessively would probably hurt an athlete more. It really is a shame Ricky Williams was banned for weed because even the smallest amount of use can get you banned from the league. Had to pop in so this didn't turn entirely into the Rol and Amp thread.

I wonder which Bucs team the Bears are going to play today. The one that beat the Saints or the one that got massacred by the 49ers?

I hope that it's the latter.

Either they're doing really bad, or the Falcons are doing really good. Either way I like it.

Wow the score between the Packers and Vikings is surprisingly close.

Looks like they were a fad. I wouldn't be surprised, if they finished this season with a negative record.

The Lions have a few issues. For starters, Stafford really isn't that good of a qb. Also, for as much credit as their d-line gets, they get burned on too many running plays because they're always trying to bullrush the qb. Reminds me of Dwight Freeney who always used to try to blow by the outside of the tackle to get to the qb until teams started wising up and running off-tackle plays right at him to gash the Colts defense. The Lions also commit a boat load of personal fouls every game and don't have much of a running game at all.
