Forums - PC - Ugh. Tried updating nvidia drivers and my screen is now black

Oh wow this thread kind of took a turn ha.

BF3 Beta says that I need to update my drivers, but when I go to "manage devices" and try to update it says I already have the latest drivers. I'm a little gun shy of trying to get the drivers from the nvidia site though because of what happened (I also don't have a recovery disc for my PC so if this thing fucks up my comp I'm...fucked).

I want BF3 to play awesome though, because even if I set it to low settings it kind if chugs, and I'm guessing its because of the video card drivers.

What graphics card do you have?

GeForce GT 440 (3GB DDR3)

 

I know its not the best, but it doesn't matter if I have the video settings set to all ultra or all low, it still seems to chug about the same.
