Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

True, sort of. But I firmly believe it wont outsell Uncharted 2. It's not controversial to say it will be slightly outsold by UC2 and end around 5 million?

Well in a way yes. I didn't expect Gears 3 to sell 3 million first week, it shouldn't have as it too is just more of the same. But I think it got helped by the extra year in development so people were really longing for more Gears after three years of waiting.
Im not saying more of the same is automatically a bad thing, Im just saying that it often means a sequel will have steady sales.
Assassin's Creed both Brothehood and Revelations is more of the same but I love those games. But in the same way based on the same argument, Assassins Creed Revelation wont significantly outsell ACII or Brotherhood.

That's fair. I actually don't think it'll outsell UC2 either. But you gotta admit, your 'more of the same' comment is uncalled for. The MP is levels ahead of UC2 from what I've played. The games has split screen added. That's great. As for the single-player, we haven't seen much, but I'm sure it's still going to be fresh. The cargo trailer really showed some nice improvements. The biggest one being the fight mechanics. I don't think I've ever seen a fight scene that well implemented in a game before. |
I think the only thing that will make or break its chances of matching or going above UC2 sales LT will be PS4 reveal
and I don't think he has played the MP beta..no one in their right mind can say it's more of the same about the MP aspect if they had played it

Obviously it will have some improvements and changes like you listed but nearly all sequels have those. I am sure an Assassin's Creed fan would list a bunch too when hyping Revelations (especially all the new MP modes). But for me the difference between Uncharted 1 and 2 was already minor.
Well its tracking ahead of Uncharted 2 in pre-orders (at least in America) plus there's pretty big hype around it because of how good Uncharted 2 was, so I really don't see it bombing.
It might bomb in the sense of not pulling mid-90's reviews like U2 did, but it won't flop in terms of sales by any means. I expect at least high 80's, if not low-mid 90's in terms of reviews. It'll be tough to match U2 but no way it'll be bad as long as the core gameplay mechanics stay the same.

Its doing well in pre-orders I think. 1/4 million preorders in America already with 6 weeks to go is pretty damn solid. Plus U2 only did like 450k in America first week so U3 should easily top that.

No I havent played the beta but I also dont think the MP of Uncharted is that big of a selling point. Of course UC2 gained customers thanks to the MP addition but mainly Uncharted is seen as a cinematic adventure and if preexisting PS3 owners havent picked up UC2 they probably wont buy UC3 either.
Anyway, how dramatic is the change in MP?
