i severely doubt we'll see $100 off or a revision

the damn thing is pretty compact, idk how youd get it smaller the only thing i could think of is an external power supply other than making it smaller i dont know why they would release a revision, its pretty striped as it is now so i dont see any thing related to cost effectiveness. i doubt they would be adding things to it since the release of the ps3 all theyve done is take things away, so ps2 B/C and other past features wont be making a comeback

i really think they'll do nothing with the price the only other possible scenario would be a $50 cut but i would mind the world ending either

i think the best thing they could do other than a $50 cut is release some mega exclusives or even timed especially games that cater to US, next GTA, resident evil 6, something like syphon filter, or something new and different like gta was for ps2 last gen but this late in the gen i doubt that would happen

ps3's what about 5 yrs old. I don't think they really need to do anything at the moment. I think this generation is slowly coming to a close.

I know plenty of people that also buy multiple systems as well just to have something collectible and new.

I have two PS3 systems and I am thinking about trading in my old fat one, but its backwards compatability makes me hold on to it for now ... and both are big, ugly, black systems with nothing special about them in terms of apperance. I bought a God of war case for my PS3 slim sys just so it wouldn't look so dull. It can't be that hard to put some special design on a system or to make it appear more interesting/special.

I am not saying that this is the key to sales or anything, but making a bundle with a neat colored/graphic system and fresh new exclusive might just catch the eye of customers instead of making yet another sharpshooter/move bundle that nobody needs (I saw one for a Goldeneye sharpshooter now lol they will bundle that crap in with anything).

You're exactly right.  Even if it were just colors, that would still give the PS3 a nice boost for awhile.  I think that's been proven to be true everytime the Wii released a new color in the past.  And if they would start doing custom consoles for the big releases, they would see great boosts for a couple of weeks after launch.  We see this all the time with the 360 custom bundles.   Sony needs to get on the ball with this.  If not this gen, then definitely next gen.

I can see Vita-interconnectivity becoming a big thing, but aside that, games of course. There's so many long-awaited exclusives in the air. Each year the games lineup topped the previous year and I expect 2012 to do the same.
