A lot of people seem to hate both. But when it comes to the worst offender, which one is it? Online pass for games made by EA or charging for content available on disc like capcom?

The thing is, with 'Disc Locked Content' (word-play on 'DLC') you are paying for the same content twice making it unacceptable. With the online pass though the devolper/publisher makes money from second hand sales... so whilst it may not be the best approach to the matter it isn't despicable like paying for 'DLC' that is already on the disc is.
Charging for content on disc.
e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)
With the DLC Issue, they are charging you for something already on the disk which I find really obnoxious.
The online pass is never put onto new buyers and is more of a tax on used copies so EA can still see revenue from those copies. It's annoying only for used buyers and is in every way a lesser evil than the DLC option.

online pass makes sense from a business point of view, I don't like it, but I understand where it comes from and I can accept that.
charging money to unlock contents that are already on the disc though, is pure douchebag, FU capcom.

I don't understand why that doesn't piss me off TBH.
How could online pass possibly be worse than DLC that's already on the disk?
Online pass isn't some BS nickle and diming by game companies, its to subsidize the money they lose from used games. I have no problem with online passes. If you like the company and enjoy their games the least you can do is buy a new copy of it.
But companies holding back content intentionally to sell it as DLC a week later is complete BS. Planned DLC in general is BS. I'm not against DLC in general, but when companies have DLC planned (or even worse developed already) before the game even comes out then that's just lame.

Actually I know why I don't care and that's because I only get DLC for games that I really enjoy and that's never happened to me before so I guess I am impartial about it until it actually happens to me. Online passes however have screwed me over a time or two in times of financial difficulty aka not being able to buy a game new and getting screwed out of online cause I didn't have the online pass.
