this dirty son of a beach, seriously. ;D

just lost all of my humanity, trying to cut something off of the boss, lolz! .. hurrhurr. but i like this one, i'll stay stubborn. *g*

You're fighting the boss in the Crystal Caves right? I so want to fight him as well, but I went to Lost Izalith first and I'm stuck farming humanity to prevent Solaire from going hollow.

Crap, of course I should've gone for the Ornstein soul over Smough as someone who likes spears. I kinda thought I'd get both souls at the time. Oh well.

I managed to obtain the Gargoyle Tail Axe but is it an effective weapon?

Other than being manuverable like a normal Axe but with an ever bigger width than a Greataxe, the weapon isn't that good, stats-wise.

I am at an impasse, currently using Drake's sword and it doesn't seem to go down much at all - I mean I never had to repair it yet and I've had it for quite some time now (Since I don't use the strong attack), Should I continue to use it and upgrade my Shortbow to +5, seeing as I use my bow quite frequently if I can lure the monsters, or upgrade a spear or something.

Also - What covenant should I join? There is currently an option to join the White covenant or something, with the cleric who's camping near the elevators, or should I just wait until better ones come up?

PS. I also like the way you obtain other classes abilities as you go through the game - pyromancer's, mages etc, so nothing is directly exclusive in the game. (Well not sure if that's so, but I've already found the knight's and thiefs armour)

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Well, you shouldn't upgrade the Shortbow since you'll find much better bows as you go in the game. When you get the DragonSlayer then you won't need any other bow in the game.

You should join whichever covenant you feel benefits more for your playstyle. The Forest Hunter covenant is a good one for hunters/thiefs, but you won't be able to kill Sif if you're part of the covenant. Currently I'm in the Chaos Servant covenant trying to open a secret passage way in one of the end game dungeons, but it's optional. White covenant is a good one if you wish to help a lot of other people (you'll get Sunlight medals for that, instead of humanity drops from bosses) and it's easier to find people to help (i.e, easier to get summoned).

you think so?  The arrows are so expensive and the bow takes so long to fire/is very heavy.  I still use my Long Bow for most encounters.  Only really used the Dragonslayer against Seath since I had the time to fire off those massive arrows and it was worth the souls to kill a boss.

You can farm the arrows from the Silver Knights with the Bows quite easily if you equip the Covetous Snake Ring (gives you 200 extra Item Discovery). I got 100 of the arrows just from my first passage on Anor Londo.

So guys, I'm currently stuck. I've just defeated the gargoyles and rang the first bell. Where do I go from here?

Should I go back to the Undead Asylum, Anor Londo or go to kill the Capra demon? (or any other place that would be better) Basically, the next easiest area

You can't go to either the Undead Asylum nor Anor Londo before ringing the two bells. Your best bet is to go kill the Capra Demon so you can go to the Depths in search for the second bell.

Bring lots of poison&toxin recovery items (you can farm them off the Ents on the entrance of Darkroot Gardens) because you will be poisoned on Blightown
