This Thread will be discussing about two of the worlds famous JRPG franchises ever (Yes Ever). Final Fantasy and Pokemon.

While both games are considered to be in the jrpg genre, Each franchise is unqie in its own way, shape, and form. Both have a huge amount of loyal fans and both have been out for quiet some time now.

I could type about the history and story of each game. But i will probably be typing forever. So i will post two video links each explaining the history of both franchises. And i most say there both rather interesting...

I will post numerous questions on here and you're to answer each question honestly. If you dont understand the question or dont know a answer to the question. Just put IDK on the answer part.

8. Pokemon: The Movie or Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children?

 Me: FFVII AC.

9. Better gameplay?

 Me: This one was hard. But i will probably have to say pokemon since the recent final fantasy games gameplay were not good...

10. Do you think a crossover between the two franchises would be good?

Me: Not really, since FF characters are quite overpowered. But it would be epic in some areas. :D

11. Which one do you think has a brighter future ahead of it??

Me: Another hard one. I will say Pokemon for now. But FF XIII Versus and FF Agito could change my mind soon if done right.

Who is your favorite character from both franchises?

Me: FF - Tifa Lockart and Pokemon - Misty.

Yeah two questions are inaccurate so I'm only gonna say that I prefer Final Fantasy series for FFIV, FFVI, FFIX and FFXII. Oh and my favorite character from FF is Terra Branford and Squirtle in the Pokemon side

Final Fantasy.

Ahhh...it's so hard...Both Pokemon and Final Fantasy are in my top 5 games of all time.

Still, Final Fantasy VII is at the top and Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy XIII aren't far behind.

Pokemon Silver (I don't know how many hours I put into this game, but I do know I put over 100 AA batteries into it).

Haven't played either but I have a feeling I would prefer Pokemon Diamond.

I have only watched Pokemon: The Movie and that was a LONG time ago, still, it was a badass anime.

9. Better gameplay?
I would have to say Pokemon, the gameplay is perfect, the item and Pokemon collecting / trading system is perfection.

10. Do you think a crossover between the two franchises would be good?
Definitely not, while I do feel gameplay is similar, the styles of the games are far too different for them to have a "crossover".

11. Which one do you think has a brighter future ahead of it??
I don't like the new Pokemon games that much, there are just too many Pokemon and too many repetitive and un-memorable designs. Final Fantasy has been struggling recently too but I'm very interested in XIII-2 and Versus XIII.

is this a joke!?

pokemon is basically the same game with different pokemon. ive played all the pokemon games since red/blue/yellow and i honestly cant remember anything about the stories of any of them. I cant remember any memorable characters (besides the characters from the show) or decent plot twist's or anything like that.

when i play pokemon i play it and never play it again until a new 1 comes out(atleast now that im not a kid anymore,i dont further collect pokemon cards or watch the show)

final fantasy 7 came out in 1997 and i can still play that game to this day even though i've played it MULTIPLE times. i cant really say the same for any of the pokemon games

i cant remember feeling involved or getting mad at any of the characters like i did in ff7 when Cait Sith stole the dark materia from "us" and gave it to the turks

and that goes for ff8, 9 and 10 also

if i was trapped on an island and could only bring 1 of those franchise's, i would DEFINITELY pick Final Fantasy(7,8,9 and 10) over Pokemon HANDS DOWN!

but pokemon is fun though ;)
