sounds like the universe just got her cherry popped. i hope it doesnt end as messy as that usually does...

This is pretty interesting but I doubt it will have any real implications for the real world context.
I mean, these are neutrinos; ie; nothing of value.

If it is true, and I do not believe it is, it means that we can signal backwards in time.

In relativity, moving faster than light is directly equivalent to moving backwards in time because from certain reference frames events will be in the other order.

Errr. No.

If true, then basically you can throw the entire Relativity Theory out of the window and start researching about Tachyons.

Actually black matter and black energy apologists have already said that light speed was not the true speed limitation for any particle, as black energy is predicted to be what stabilizes the central core of the milky way galaxy, and that can only be achieved if there's some type of force acting at faster speeds/energy output than the light-speed "suction" gravity well from the black holes.

I think I'll keep on saying this...

OMG WHAT.

Let's say you were going only 1km/h slower than the speed of light relative to some observer. If you shoot a rifle along your direction of motion what would the stationary observer see? The intuitive answer would be that he would see the bullet moving at C - 1 + Sb where C is the speed of light and Sb the speed of the bullet (all in km/h).

Einstein said the above was false. This can be put to the test in a particle accelerator. Particles are accelerated to say 99% the speed of light and then more enertgy is added. It's been clearly observed that the added energy assimptotally (hmm is that a word) increases the speed closer and closer to C, but no matter what you do the threshold can't be broken.

That's been clearly observed, as well as put to the test in several different types of experiments. Not to mention that Electromagnetic waves (radio, light, satalite signals) all move at this speed.

Now this neutrino news MIGHT have something to it. Neutrino's literally pass through our entire earth and hardly interact with anything, so they are indeed strange.

This does NOT mean Special Relativity (which is clearly not well understood by most) should be thrown out of the window, what to speak of General Relativity which has provided incredible predictions and has been scrutinized. General Relativity is a thing of beauty and is quite rigorous mathematically, so even fewer understand this I would say.

POINT IS STOP THE MADNESS PLEASE

That sounds like speculative cosmology mixed with fringe physics and new age philosophy to me.

If true then modern physics is well screwed. Some laws will have to be written off.

This.

Not this.

I find it curious that you use those terms to characterize the current state of Hawking's theory on Black Holes and quantum leaks tied to anti-gravity effect from dark matter.
