Forums - Microsoft - Should i get a xbox?

well ebgames are having a special, a 250gb xbox 360 slim with kinect gears 3 kinect adventures and a controller, and it's a really great deal but the problem is xbox live' it cost $90 and then i will have to buy new games for it and it will all add up, all my friends have a playstation except for 1 so that is another setback and i have an elite right now with a few games but tbh the elite is booring what's the point of no wifi so i could sell that and take $150 of it which would take it to $230.

i need to know a few things

first. is kinect good? i have a psmove atm but it's pretty lackluster with no games

2nd. is live worth it? and how much different is it from psn

3rd. is gears and halo good? [my main reasons that i want the system]

i really need to know from personal experiences is it worth it or am i to late.

The same XBox 360 deal offered at EB Games can be picked up for $20 less at Harvey Normans. Harvey Normans are offering 24 months interest free on purchases over $300.
If you are already own an Xbox 360 Elite, do you really need a new XBox 360 Slim?

If you have the tiime, money and desire there is no reason not to do it.

1. ????

2. Yes, if you feel like spending the money. It has last FM the best way to find good music. Also has ESPN 3 which has some good sports, but only if you have cable or an internet service provider that has it (mine does not). Otherwise it is about the same as psn only with a lot more adds.

3. Gears and Halo make that system and if you like shooters of all kinds they should be played.

Your never to late to join the party, right now the games are cheap, but overall it is very similar to the ps3 just has some different games.

After reading your post more carefully I would say it is better to just buy the  wii fii adapter. It is very epensive, buyt cheaper than a new 360.

well it cost $100 for a wifi adapter $79 for gears $199 for kinect that's $380 right there for $9 more i can get a slim

it would actually be cheaper to sell the elite it's $398 and if i trade it in i would get it for $248 or something like that so it's cheaper

Live shouldn't cost $90 a month...it costs $60 at the most if you don't go deal shopping.

Now to answer your questions:

1. Not sure seeing as I don't have Kinect but most people that have played it say its fun. Software is lacking right now though (but that is soon to change)

2. Live is worth it if you are big into MP games and plan on doing things like watching Netflix on your 360. The difference between PSN and Live isn't huge but Live is more streamlined and user friendly IMO and it has a couple of extra features that PSN doesn't have like party chat/cross game chat.

3. This one is easy! Yes they are both really awesome game franchises.

Since you are asking for an opinion I'll give it.

You already have an Xbox right. So you can play Gears and Halo (offline by the sounds of things at least).

Just buy a PS3.

The OP is from Australia.
So what city in Australia are you from OP.

Gears of War 3 can be picked up for $69 at JB HiFi, price match that at EB Games and have 7 days to return the game if you change your mind.

HN offering same 250GB XBox 360 Kinect + Kinect Adventures + Gears of War 3 for $378, a saving of $200+ on that neat bundle. Kinect retails as $199 standalone at most retail stores.

The deal/offer expires September 29, 2011. Stocks are limited get in quick or you may miss out.

Trade ins at EBGames or any game store offering same deal will lower the price down significantly.

if the elite is boring in your opinion. whats the point >_>? lol
