You can tell he is a businessman and not a salesman.
I think both Nintendo and Sony has much to fear in handheld from Apple and numerous smartphones in the market. It was smart for Nintendo, to drop the price of the 3DS prior to iPhone 5's imminent release; in order to establish a decent user base. It is going to be a difficult market for any dedicated handheld videogame system just coming into the market as it will have to compete with the smartphones which offer competent mobile gaming along with multiple features for almost the same price. I hope PSV follows the 3DS and cuts the price to sub $200; because when the new iteration of the iPhone and iPad comes out it will make life miserable for the Vita!!! (my opinion)
Seems like a pretty decent fella
At first I couldn't believe there was nothing bad in the article, had to re-read it lol

I totally agree. It's amazing how much people get offended by what people in a company say about other companies.
But, as a rule for being a console fanboy, PR talk is VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS!!!
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Yoshida actually knows the business he's in, at least, and understands that Nintendo is never reactive.
Props for shutting down Game Informer like that while they were trying to be... Game Informer

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

PR really shouldn't be a factor in someone's purchasing decisions...
And Yoshida's always been a pretty cool guy.

I feel the same way buddy, however Apple is a real factor now in gaming ;(they opened the door to tablets and smartphones to be viable game machines) and both Sony and Nintendo would be wise to take this threat seriously!!!

Shuhei Yoshida is always like this, he's the most down to earth CEO/President you'll see, watch his interviews. |
Shuhei Yoshida is amazing. I love reading and watching interviews with this guy. I'm glad he is getting so much spotlight, because the other CEOs/Presidents suck ass when interviewed.
Shuhei Yoshida tells it like it is in a respectful and honorable way.
