People complaining about the Vita (can't get used to that name!) having the exact games as the PS3 need to calm down. Both the Sega Nomad AND the Nec Turbo Express played the same games as their home console counterparts and they.......they.....oh. Nevermind.

Yean, and now the Vita and PSP can play together in PSP multiplayer games. It's like Sony doesn't even want it to succeed!

So now backwards compatibility sucks?

Fix your sarcasm detector, then go back and read my post again.

Maybe I should have added I face, I knew you made that thread about it earlier, I just felt like putting you on the spot.

Yeah, a face would have made the point a little clearer. But thanks. ^_^

Oh, I was posting from a phone, earlier.  I was just messing around with my earlier post, too.  Of course, being able to play console games on a portable is an impressive feat. Plus there are a lot of "PSV only" games, too.  The Nomad and the Turbo Express failed because they were insanely expensive and could drain disposable batteries dry in about 30 minutes to an hour.  I'm just a cheeky little monkey!

Haha, I know, I know, I was kidding around. After PS2 backwards compatibility was complained about for so long and now the Vita has it I thought I would take a crack at what he said.

I got yours too, I knew about the Nomad and the Turbo Express, they failed miserably.

All portable system up to the DS always had similar games. Its the second touch screen the DS had that provided new types of game. Releasing a tablet controller on a home system first would have did the same thing. If you get my point, theres no such thing as "portable game" or "home game". Its just that some games are more suited to quick play session.

I think what some of us (or at least, me) meant was that in the past, we always got games on a portable that had to sacrifice something from the console games of the day.  Like how Gameboy games were simplified Nes games or how GBA games were always a lot weaker than Gamecube games or even how PSP games were quite a bit behind PS3 games.  Some of it was due to interface.  Some of it was due to horsepower.

The PSV seems to be able to give us games that are right up there with the PS3 as far as experience is concerned.  Pretty impressive.  The other systems that played the same game as the consoles seemed to fail but their problems aren't likely to be repeated by the PSV.  I do agree with your post, though (especially the bolded).  I just wanted to clarify.

It's a lot less likely to fail now, because Sony has a firm grasp on the handheld market compared to those other companies (they know what they're doing for the most part). The PSP was one of the first serious contenders to Nintendo's handheld domination throughout the years.
