Gears 3 is hovering around 91 on metacritics.  I thought it would be more 93-94. 

But all the PS3 exclusive have been mildly disappointing on metacritic recently.  Killzone 3, Infamous 2, Resistance 3, and Gran Turismo 5 all have scored less than their predecessors scoring in the low mid 80's.  Hopefully Uncharted 3 can match Uncharted 2 with its score......

Hummmm... it can beat the Gears 3 91 score but I can't see it beating the U2 96 score.

gears mainly got marked down for it's story and that's UC3's strong point and with an improved online i reckon it will hover around 94-95 metacritic it all boils down to how much has the multiplayer improved, from judging the beat alot, it has a lot of things going for it, especially it's graphics

plus your all forgetting little big planet 2 wasn't a dissapointment it received a 92 metarcritic

Uncharted 3 needs a Wal-mart commercial like Gears of War 3

If it doesn't, it would be one the biggest dissappoinments of all time.

OT: Uncharted 3 won't reach UC2's metacritic, but I think it can beat Gears 3. I thought both of them would get arond a 93, but Gears 3 ended up dropping to a 91. I believe Uncharted will still reach that 93, or maybe 92 at least.

Reviewers are likely going to search for any flaws in the game and go off that, even if they're not important. Look at Gears 3. Story was never an important asset of the Gears Universe, yet reviewers still saw that as a problem in the game. I knew Gears wouldn't have the best story, but I didn't think reviewers would find much of an issue with it. Apparently, they did.

I don't see that happening with Uncharted 3. Uncharted 2 was pretty well-rounded. It had a good story, gameplay, online, etc. Uncharted 3 is likely to continue that trend plus improved online (from what I've played in the Beta). I really don't see any major flaws that reviewers could really focus on. Maybe they could treat P2P servers as a huge flaw and deduct points for that. I doubt it though. Plenty of games of P2P servers.We'll see.

LBP2 did well getting a 92. Being the meta-whore that I am, a sequel scoring 2-4 points lower than its predecessor is OFTEN times the better game.

LBP2 and LBP1 being a clear display of that.

Gears 3 and Gears 2 also being a display of that.

Infamous 2 and Infamous also being a display of that.

Resistance 3 and Resistance 2 also being a display of that.


GT5 and KZ3 fell short, no question there.

I know it doesn't really make sense, but I honestly think its accurate xP. You just have to adjust that reviewers won't give a way higher score unless the game has an insane leap (for instance Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 1).

I predict Uncharted 3 will land at 92 and it will be a better game. So yes, it will beat Gears 3, but it will not beat Uncharted 2, despite it being better like all the other games released this year (aside from KZ3).
