Forums - Sony - I was going to buy a 360 but...

I looked on ebgames.ca to check prices and I saw the 360 pro costs $400???

Thats the same cost as the 40 gig PS3.

http://ebgames.ca/

I already have a 60gb PS3 and all my friends were bugging me about buying a 360 so we could all play online, so i thought that would be all right and I could dish out $350 dollars. But I saw it costs 400 so I'm not sure I wanna spend that.

Also I'd have to throw in a good $70 bucks for online and buy a warranty so I don't have to worry about the dreaded RRoD. When all the costs are added up this is no cheaper than the 40 gigabyte PS3, let alone the 80gb.

So my options are:

- Buy the low end Arcade Version

- Dish out the 500+ dollars on the Premium (including online and tax)

- Wait for a Price Drop

- Be happy with having the better system (PS3)

I am probably not gonna buy a 360 at all unless they drop the price.

This is off topic but it says this thread has negative 1 replies. Weird?

EDIT: Never mind.

I think I'll take your advice and be happy for now and see how the price fluctuates.

tell your friends to get on board the fun train and buy a PS3 :)

̶3̶R̶D̶   2ND! Place has never been so sweet.

Canadians are getting screwed on the pricing from what I've seen.

It might get a price cut in a few months thought.

Thank god for the disable signatures option.

That would be my recommendation also. I don't think you'll have to wait long to see MS drop the price.

Also, I wouldn't worry about spending for that warranty. Most RRoD problems seem to be shored up with the new mobos and you get a 3 year warranty from MS anyway. I don't see the point unless you think not waiting a week or two to get a new unit back is worth $70.
