Forums - Sony - Sony TGS Keynote

http://tgs.playstation.jp/

I'll update it when more info comes.

PSV game case.

8:57
bashcraft:
One dude is using a Dual Shock 3
8:58
bashcraft:
And Yoshida is using the Vita
8:58
bashcraft:
On Yoshida's Vita, you can see Little Big Planet
8:59
bashcraft:
so he uses the touch panel to draw a line and help the other player across the platform
8:59
bashcraft:
Yoshida is playing with the touch screen, while the other guys is using traditional controls
9:00
bashcraft:
So Yoshida is using the Vita kind of like how the Wii U controller interacts
9:00
bashcraft:
with the Wii U
9:01
bashcraft:
Yoshida says it's easy to use the touch pad while playing LittleBigPlanet
9:01
bashcraft:
He's swiping lines across the screen, leaving glowing green lines
9:02
bashcraft:
And sending his airplane across the screen
9:02
bashcraft:
The stage was a King Kong type level built just for this demo
9:02
bashcraft:
But it showed that touch controls can be used on games, while other players use traditional controls
9:04
bashcraft:
New development environment called "PlayStation Suite SDK"
9:04
bashcraft:
content can be created for vita and android games
9:04
bashcraft:
actually, Android OS
9:04
bashcraft:
This is a developer pitch right now
9:05
bashcraft:
Sony is saying you can created casual games for a wide range of platforms, including Android and Vita
9:05
bashcraft:
Content can then sold thru PSN Store, etc, etc, etc
9:05
bashcraft:
This goes into beta this Nov
9:05
bashcraft:
So if you are game developer, this is for you!
9:06
bashcraft:
They are showing a game created on PlayStation Suite SDK
9:06
bashcraft:
It's called Zero Gravity
9:06
bashcraft:
Running on Xperia and PS Vita
9:07
bashcraft:
Side scroller space shooter
9:07
bashcraft:
But it's the same game, running on both devices
9:07
bashcraft:
Now on to PlayStation certified devices
9:07
bashcraft:
Like Sony's new tablet
9:08
bashcraft:
They are doing an animation demo
9:08
bashcraft:
You can rotate images on the screen
9:08
bashcraft:
That was a short demo
9:08
bashcraft:
:/
9:09
bashcraft:
So something you make on the Tablet (say a photo with a world clock), like you can upload that picture on the Vita
9:09
bashcraft:
Basically, this stuff is all cross Sony portable platform, it seems, or that's the goal at least
9:11
bashcraft:
So, they will start distributing titles for Android
9:11
bashcraft:
That sounds like we are wrapping up
9:12
bashcraft:
Now, a special guest
9:12
bashcraft:
Andrew House, who just stood up
9:12
bashcraft:
and waved
9:12
bashcraft:
But that's it, we are done
9:13
bashcraft:
(Andrew House is some Sony bigwig)
9:13
bashcraft:
OKAY, THATS IT

Around the Network

Let's see what other goodies will be announced. Not expecting much, but I'm bored.

I am the black sheep     "of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong."-Robert Anton Wilson

those cases are a waste of plastic.

Blue is my favorite color. I'm happy although I hope there's smaller case for the game cart.

I think it's safe to say that E3 and TGS sucked this year.

Lol I know but there was no thread so I just made one.

One more giggling anime pedo game and I am out of here.

Wait- am I reading this correctly? You can sell your own home made games in ps suite sdk?

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Both E3 and TGS were/have been good. I do think that Sony spent a little to much time talking about the data plans and pricing, but Japan hasn't received any information regarding the Vita and it is launching there first in a couple months. Sony needed to address the important information for that market. There is still tons of content coming out of TGS. Hang tight.
