Forums - Nintendo - Speaker system

I just saw this advert:

I've looked on the 4gamers website and various online stores and can't find any details or sellers. It seems very odd that they've advertised it linking to their site which has no details about it.

Does anyone know anything about it? It's certainly grabbed my attention.

umm. looks interesting for someone who has a Wii with no stereo.

But the base would kinda suck. A sub is better on the floor in a corner. Not on your table or wherever you put your Wii.

I definitely wouldn't buy that. Do you really want two crappy speakers and a sub? Why not just get a surround system?

It looks like any standard 2.1 system. I would get a Creative or a Cambridge instead.

Lack of money and space. I expect this would be substantially cheaper and smaller.

You could probably get significantly better speakers for the money. You can also get very space efficient surround speakers. I don't have a ton of extra space due to all of the stuff in my living room, so I mounted my front and surround speakers about 4 inches from the walls. The bottom of each speaker is more than 6' above the floor, they're out of the way (above furniture). The only speaker I have that takes up much space is my center channel, which I've placed below my screen in the TV stand.

The biggest issue is wiring and whether you can run wires under the carpet or in wall.  You do not want wireless speakers.

Unfortunately I've had to move back in with my parents for a few months while I finish uni. There isn't enough room for my Wii in my bedroom and there's no way on earth they'd let me attach surround sound speakers to the lounge walls :(

That's goofy.. :p But then again, kinda cool too, haha. I remember there was something similar for GameCube back in the day.

 2008 Predictions:

Wii: 44 Million
Xbox360: 25 Million
PS3: 22 Million

DS: 90 Million
PSP: 37 Million

I think it looks pretty! It'll probably appeal to the female market more than guys I guess...
