The lack of JRPGs on the system has probably been one of the top 3 worse things that could have happened to it. Of course, if things like this keep happenening, it could extend the PS3's life over in Japan by a good bit. May have been their plan all along |
Nah,Sony arent that evil to come up with such a dark plan!

Yeah I guess you're right, plus Xillia is on a much smaller userbase. =P

I so agree, love my PS3 but PSP is my fave console this gen just because of JRPGs. Let's hope Japanese developers take more risk with PS3 as it's only becoming clear that majority of JRPG fans from PS1 and PS2 gens remained loyal to the Playstation brand.
WAAAH!! Xillia numbers. It's already on Abyss level with just 1 week LTD mind you. Next week it will outsold it's LTD. I hope this sparks the JRPG for PS3 more. I hope SE is taking notes too. I hope a lot of other JRPG devs will have confidence in releasing JRPG in PS3 too. I hope Ni No kuni PS3 will also do this number or even better.

According to Mediacreate, Tales of Destiny 2 did 450k FW. 498k according to Famitsu. So Xillia is a new record it looks like.
Some of it is probably because Square Enix isn't providing the jRPG fans what they want, so it's Namco's gain.
This game could easily be a million seller if Namco does the thing they detest so much - localize it.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
Conservatives: Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.
Something interesting to note. Once this weeks data goes up PS3 will have erased almost 30% of its total YOY decline in Japan in a single week.

Interesting and pleasant at the same time.

I hope 200k minimum for Ni No Kuni. The game diserves good sales.
