I am never really worried for a zelda game. The only thing that ever really annoys me is that first barrier. Why do we almost always have to start out in some village where we are stuck for hours upon hours. I am worried that we will have to do the village/dungeon before we can go and explore everything else. Yes....the town in the second N64 game was considered a long dungeon to me that never ended! lol But I have to admit this game looks hella cool!!!

I hesitated before I added those last two exclamation points.

Bad news. They said Skyloft will be like Clock Twon from Majora's Mask(I like that idea). And those of you that beat Twilight Princess in less than 30 hours, how in the world did you play it? My first playthrough took 60 hours on the gamecube and second run was 45 hours on the wii. Do you take time to explore every nook and cranny, play all the minigames and try to beat your high score in them, randomly pick fights with orcs in the field and so on? Cause if you do, I can't imagine how you beat it so fast. I got all the bugs, almost 50 poes, did everything you can do in the fishing place and upgraded all my ammo bags to the max.

I don't quite understand how you can't care for characters just because you have to read what they say though. I like a lot of them despite lack of speech.

Not sayi ng it is impossible ,I will always have recognize the character as one of the best due to the games themselves. I am
just saying as my tastes change with the games I more easily can relate to speaking character. Without speech I am constantly reminded it is only a game. That is not something I want in a game that relies on story like Zelda does.

Gaming has evolved to be many things. It should still rely on great gameplay, but I will never be drawn into caring about characters when they seem like mindless mutes. I think this game should include voice withe option for text only because it would thrill many to have better developed characters with more personality while still pleasing those who like text. I gave up on text last gen and this just seems outdated.

This has been heavily discussed on these forums before... Most people wouldn't mind voice acting in Zelda games but not for Link

@the gaming has evolved bit, plenty of recent games that have silent protagonists (Dead Space, Half-life...etc)

If they do ever give Link a voice, I hope it's a well suited one

I know it has been heavily discussed, but I do not join in the Nintendo discussion very often so I make my opinion clear when I feel like it.    Also I am not just talking about main characters voice, but every character. Not many games of the portions of Zelda lack audio dialogue. So your examples are not not a close comparison especially since deadspace 2 added a voice to Issac after recognizing it added a lot to the game. Zelda would also benefit from this.

I agree, it would have to be done right, but I think it's high time for some voice acting in Zelda. Not sure about Link, I think it might sound odd if he alone is silent... (although Link doesn't say much in  text either, perhaps Link could be promoted to being like the NPCs currently are, ie being able to answer yes/no/ok with grunts and body language).

I don't quite understand how you can't care for characters just because you have to read what they say though. I like a lot of them despite lack of speech.

For portable games, I don't mind text at all. For Zelda on WiiU though, it would be a shame to have HD graphics > PS3 without voice acting. Keep Link silent if you must(I don't mind if he speaks occasionally).

Some people don't do the sidequests, hell check the Nintendo Channel. The European ones have an average total playtime of under 48 hours for Twilight Princess.... there must be a lot of people playing only 30 hours or so to counter people like me with almost 250 hours.

As for Wagram, he had played halfway through the game previously and even though it had been years since then, he still had a rough idea on what to do in the first half of the game. So his 28 hours aren't a completely honest measure and he didn't really bother with some sidequests like the poe souls.

I was gonna write that same reply to him but figured it wasn't worth the trouble >_>

Well it wasn't all me, my flatmate started a file after me... though he only used about 40 hours worth (and also didn't complete it). The other 210h was me though. I think the total time spent on my first playthrough was about 80 hours (I completed the main story after 50 hours with about 10 poes and a couple of bugs left to find after 60 hours I was having trouble on the last 2 poes, but took them at a leisurely pace and found them around 70 hours in... I occasionally came back just to have a ride around or repeat the final boss fight)......... Not sure exactly how many other playthroughs I have done but given there are 130 hours unaccounted for it's probably 4 or 5.

Also bare in mind this is calculated from the Wii message board, so it includes all time from when clicking start on the disc channel until you turn off/return to Wii menu.

That was actually pretty damn good! I'm not super-hyped, but it definitely validates my eventual purchase.
