Forums - Nintendo - Fire Emblem 3DS UPDATE#3 - What a bunch of jerks.. takes place in Magvel( Sacred Stones setting) ...

It's worth noting that the game isn't set in Magvel, though. You're linking a fake source in your opening post. The "new Fire Emblem set in Magvel" rumour started a couple of weeks before FE13 was announced, and as it roughly coincided with the announcement, a lot of people started believing the rumour was true.

Nintendo has confirmed it's not, though. It's set in a completely new kingdom named something ala "Iris". Or well, that's what the people over at serenesforest translate it to.

Apart from that, it's kind of interesting that none of the videos (as far as I can tell) show anyone doubling. It looks like Intelligent Systems is changing up a lot more this time than they've done in the past. Which is good, because usually when they add stuff, it's great. The shame has previously been that they've simplified the gameplay a bit for the handheld editions (the GBA titles were undeniably less complicated than the SNES ones, and the DS ones were less complicated than the Wii ones), but that doesn't look to be the case here.

New continent, new artstyle, large changeup in gameplay. That's definitely good, because changing it so much definitely makes a EU/US localization seem more likely.

Thats kinda true. there are theories of this actually taking place Fire Emblem 1 world. supposedly Krom is using the Falchion and may be related to Marth. some hints to this is that Krom shares the xxact same critical animation as Marth.

Xxain, take good care of this thread and by that I mean don't post wrong information or a highly subjective thread title.

Hey, 3 different rumors just went with the most plausible. Return to Magvel - Makes the most sense as Sacred Stones is the only setting with 1 game it and a return to handheld means continueing where thet left off, return of world map and hes supposedly a undead enemy is shown in one of trailers.. plus supposedly it came from Famitsu, which is better than a random Forom goers opinion. Related to Fire Emblem 1 - like I said, supposedly hes the Falchion, I checked and assuming the they didnt redesigh it with new artist( which is entirely possible ).. it doesnt look like the falchion but the critical strike is xxact, and it doesnt help that it likes him. entire new game but he still has Falchion? - Ive seen Iris kingdom thing, but that says he wieling falchion? as for takin care of this .. it will be going in favor of a Fire Emblem focus thread very soon.

But pineapple provided countervailing evidence, though it would have been useful if Pineapple had cited his source with a link

Oh, whoops. I could have sworn I did. Thanks for pointing that out.

I had the original source (although it's kind of useless to post as it's in Japanese), but I can't find it. So, here's just a link to the serenesforest FE13 info-site: http://serenesforest.net/fe13/

In case you didn't know, serenesforest is a highly serious site, and (I believe) the biggest Fire Emblem site on the net. The info pages are only updated by the administrators (in fact, I think it's just one person doing it), and it's never been incorrect before.

The Falchion in the game is called something ala "The Sealed Falchion" too, so it's not the same Falchion as in the original Fire Emblem.
