The high end of my prediction is 20 million but I can´t see the PS3 selling better to be honest. It is popular but the price cut was is what helped the PS3 during the holidays. We´ll see if sales will still be high in february but for now I just can´t see the PS3 selling in excess of 20 million units.

What are your predictions for Xbox 360 and Wii?

For me it depends on what the software does for the PS3 in the EU region. The biggest software movers in that region have not hit the PS3 yet so for me we will have a much better indication of what will happen after GT5, GTAIV, MGS4, Tekken 6 have been released this year. Unless of course Europe are going to abandon the games that they have played for the last 10yrs for this new direction of Nintendo's. That is not to say EU won't buy Nintendo games, we all know they will, but I expect both to fit in.

I also expect Sony to drop the PS3 price in EU just before either GTAIV or MGS4 launch and then they will be getting closer to that mass market price.

I think the 360 is in for a lot of trouble in Europe. Currently they have the superior gaming lineup, cheaper price and they have thrown the biggest games at the region already and yet the PS3 not only dominated them this Christmas but is selling at a much quicker rate in Europe considering the 360 has been available 12mths longer. So Microsoft have a lot of work to do, I seriously can't see Europe ever embracing the 360 this gen outside the UK like they will the Wii or PS3. I expect around 10-12mil total.

The Wii is unpredictable because we don't know how high the demand is because of the constant sell outs. There is little doubt that the Wii is riding a very high wave and I feel that the DS has changed EU's perspective on how they see Nintendo and is creating a lot more sales and demand for the Wii. 3rd parties will need to help Nintendo though if Nintendo are to reach 40-50mil predictions that some think. I also don't think that the Wii will have the lasting appeal of the PS2 so I don't expect the Wii to surpass PS2 sales in Europe. I expect around 30mil but again, hard to judge untilthe Wii stops selling out and demandcan be measured.

I think you are overestimating the PS3 a bit as a lot of core gamers already bought the system because they know those games will be coming.

Your Xbox 360 prediction feels spot on, though - the system isn´t selling all too well in Europe lately.

I´m curious what the Wii will sell, too. I´ll stick with my 40 million but the system is a beast - and like the Playstation 3 it still has a lot of games on the horizon.
