Just because it says "editorial" doesn't mean you have a license to spout bullshit. There's a thing called "journalistic integrity" that it seems  a great number of writers in the VGC writing team lack. Most notable are Jake Weston and Benjamin Yoder. It feels like Jake Weston hasn't ever even written a single article that can be considered worthwhile. Benjamin Yoder does a bit better, coming across somewhat hit-or-miss, but he still tends to write horribly slanted articles frequently.

Why do we allow these to be posted? Is VGC really that desperate for hits that it has no standards behind the quality? You can't make the excuse that it's our own fault for not stepping up, because frankly, good writers are driven away by this crap. The good writers don't want to be associated as a writer for this site thanks to the crap you've allowed to be here already.

This is ridiculous, and it needs to stop.

While not a particularly good article, isn't it mostly attacking the new add-on? I've seen a lot of places doing that. It seems he's saying the add-on is accentuating other things he doesn't love. I mean, I definitely see what you're saying, but it is an opinion piece yeah?

P.S. I've seen worse on the site, articles riddled with REAL b.s., things claimed almost as fact when they're just opinion.  I agree with VGC having crappy articles for the most part.  I have enjoyed a small amount, there has to be one or two good writers on the staff at least.

Ironically and hilariously, this whole move started under the banner of a tighter focus on worthwhile original content and professionalism behind your articles - even simple game trailers and screenshots.

I did 2-3 articles back in my day knowing they lack merit and reason (some you can even still find, I guess), but overall I tried to be objective and entertaining - way to disintegrate the whole news section into a place where you'll no longer viewed and credible (and don't deliver on your purpose, either). Notice how quickly the contribs revolve these days - nobody from my time, early-mid 2010 aside from Gabriel is still around. It's just not fun anymore.

There's nothing wrong with the editorial.
Not everyone has to love nintendo ergonomics and the points he raises about dual analog peripheral are very valid.
