So from what I have understood Battlefield 3 will have a day one downloadable map-pack called "Back to Karkand" and to get this for free you only have to pre-order the game. On the official site for Battlefield it says this pack is called "Battlefield 3 - Limited Edition"

But now when I go to my online store to pre-order I see two versions of Battlefield 3 there:

One just called "Battlefield 3" for roughly 30 Euros (PC version) and another called "Battlefield 3 - Limited Edition" for 40 Euros.

But wasn't I supposed to get the map-pack if I just pre-order "Battlefield 3"? Why are there two versions, what is the difference and how do I avoid getting ripped off?

Yeah, they don't seem to want people to know what they get. Not a very good marketing practice IMO.

You have to get the Limited Edition. However, that is the only version I've seen available for pre-order at any online retailer... from US perspective of course.
