I'm trying to cut back on my weed smoking... Anyways, I'd rather be a pothead than an alcoholic. Legal drugs (prescription drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol) are more abused than illegal drugs. I know marijuana is the safest drug on this planet and I will choose to use it no matter what the law in my country says. Too bad it was made illegal due to prejudice, lies, and misinformation. Sucks that hemp is also illegal (when industrial grade hemp contains barely any THC). Fuck the cotton, paper, and oil industries.

Using drugs (even marijuana) is about one of the dumbest things you can do. I've known person after person who has told me how smoking pot isn't worse than being an alcoholic. It's sad because those are the same people that either waste their lives away getting high and losing any potential they had or either used pot as a gateway drug into something worse. I have a whole list of friends that threw their lives away during college and it was all due to pot. Some of them eventually recovered, most didn't, and all at the time said it wasn't a problem.

I won't try and debate recreational use of marijuana.  However, I am pretty sure that you realize that plenty of people can benefit from using medical marijuana.  Cancer patients and AIDS patients that get sick from the prescription meds can't even eat.  Weed allows them to have an appetite after taking prescription meds.  Glaucoma patients benefit also from marijuana.  Anyways, for the USA government to label marijuana as a schedule 1 (no medical value) drug with heroin, etc.. is pure idiotic.  At least some states have stepped up and realized the federal government isn't always right.

Oh I completely agree that you can ruin your life with alcohol too, it's just when I look at my own personal experiences through people I know and look at the rate of people that ruined their lives through alcohol and ruined their lives through drugs, the people who regularly do drugs ruin or near ruin their lives is alarmingly higher than alcohol.

Proportionally, I know more people who have problems and have sunk due to alcohol than I do due to marijuana.
