Forums - Nintendo - (Rumor) Famitsu had a sneak peak at Nintendo 3DS peripheral (dual analog)

does anyone not think how cool a single touch 3d screen model would be with 2 control sticks/pads, launching as gameboy 3D - thats what i would have preferred to see

The reason only one screen is 3D on 3DS is because smudges and 3D don’t work well together.

If you want a single screened handheld then there is an option for you and its called PSVita.

Going one screen would be the stupidest thing Nintendo would ever do! Adding a second stick is nothing compared to that lol

yeah, it is a little bit late here...  sorry I thought you were refering to the design of the monster, not the add-on... in which case I agree, it looks bad.

The second part though, I think all those games are system sellers, maybe Inazuma is not that big yet, but it will, MH is huge, and if I go with what I have read (I have yet to play the game) the game is just as good as always... mario 3ds land is a wild card... it might be huge, it might not, but given the fact that mario galaxy sold more than a million and mario galaxy almost a million in japan, the game has great chances to become a hit...

For MH3G, since it's going to be on a cartridge, I really want them to get rid of that annoying loading in between each small area, or at least make it near instantaneous. It would really help it I believe.

I don't have such hope for the mario game, I saw the gameplay videos from gamescon, and all three ( or four ) levels shown just seem so boring and horribly easy. Not sure if you saw them, but I recommend that you have a look if you didn't.

yep the sales do show it, number one selling console in the last 4 weeks

Well, I certainly hope it would after the massive pricecut it received, just aroud a 3rd or more of it's price. Question is: how long will it last? And I can tell you that it willl eventually go back to being outsold by the DS, just like all the weeks after it's launch and before the price cut ( there might have been an exception or two ).

Aha I actually laughed at how it looks with it attached.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

If this is an optional add-on for MH, then it's silly, but acceptable.

If this is a compulsory add-on for MH, then it's stupid, but still acceptable.

If If this is an optional add-on for many future games, then it's very stupid, and it's testing Nintendo's consumers' patience.

If this is a compulsory add-on for future games and leading to a redesign, then it's one of the stupidest things Nintendo has ever done, and totally unacceptable.

Hopefully it's one of the first two.

This more or less reflects my opinion. It's actually brilliant if this is just an optional (or even compulsory) MH add-on, as the consumer ill-will will be far more than offset by the Japanese sales, but if its going to be the new mandatory standard for 3DS games, Nintendo can go straight to hell

I'm guessing, tentatively, that it's going to see limited use like the Classic Controller Pro, and still be optional. I mean classic controller was optional on Monster Hunter Tri, they can definitely make it work with what the 3DS has without having to get that thing

Likely they made the pad as an incentive to the MH guys, just like they did with CC Pro, and anyone else who uses the pad will just be an afterthought...

it's entirely up to nintendo on this one.

...if this is just an add-on no developer will make use of it just like the CC and the move and the motion plus ect. developers don't like limiting their audience.

...if nintendo releases a redesign with the second nub build it. sorry nintnedo fans, time to either pony up for a new console or get used to the ugly attachment.

Those loading times were not that bad. Worst ones were loading an online quest initially, and that was usually more about connection problems.

You need to have the areas cleanly segregated (to be safe from the monsters), so there would have to be a little bit of loading, but i never saw the fury over Tri's load times

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'll wait for the one with a rear touchpad.

I hope the G Version of Monster Hunter has the features and quality of the Wii version and a lot of extras like the PSP version. And if they add online and local, both free, they could have easily a million seller in Japan.

Actually, I wonder how well could this sell considering the userbase and the fact it's the fourth time it has been released.

And if it sells well.... MH4 for Nintendo!! ***runs from Sony fans!!***

The Move has alot of games that support it, more the M+ and Kinect combined, dont know where people get this Move gets no support nonsense. CC?? Are you kidding me?? Just about every non motion game released on Wii has the option to use CC. M+, that thing sucks for support.

OT im just gonna hold off for now on getting one of these, until the questions have been cleared up. It  looks cumbersome and if its just gonna be for MH, no biggie, i dont like that series. If they are just preparing for a redesign, I'll wait for that, but in that scenario, it will show that Ninty didnt really learn anything form Wii

OMLand it looks like a Wii-U controller of sorts.

Second Wii-U pad confirmed. Well, almost...now we need the new pheripheral for L2 and R2.

This attachment has R1, R2 and L2 buttons. If you look closely you can see them.
