I just can't see the world ending from things such as wars or viruses. Those have been happening for thousands and thousands of years. Out of all the reasons you listed I think the most probable ones would have to be the asteroid or sea levels rising.

The thought of these passages in the Bible can be unnerving - I do believe that they had some method of seeing future events, although whether this was a divine occurrence or not I'm not sure.

Why? They're written in a vague fashion, and they describe things that are quite common, and not at all outstanding (wars and earthquakes aren't rare occurances).

I admit. Times are more difficult than they have been in previous years. They are nowhere near as bad as they could be.

This is true. People who think times are terrible now obviously haven't heard of the Middle Ages, or heck, even the early 20th century.
