Edit: you know what its kinda simple actually.

1. Go here http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/3ds/en_na/3dsambassador.jsp?menu=how&submenu=ctr-ht-amb-lookup&source=online to see if your eligable

2. now log on to the e-shop

3. go to settings./other and click on your downloads 

4. find the ambassador gaems and click re-download.

Got 4 out of 10 so far. Pretty sweet!

Yea and it seems like more of a mistake or explit than anything if the games will be on the front page of the e-shop tomorrow.

Got 'em all! These things download at the speed of light. I'm not too hyped to play any of them but at least they make my 3DS home screen look fucking awesome. Can"t wait for the GBA games, though. I wish they'd have released this games a little spaced apart and mixed with the GBA games. I fear that some of these games may never get played since we get so many at once. Oh well, for free, I can't complain.

My exact thoughts.

One thing I'll say is that these games look a whole lot better than they ever did on my old black and white TV when I was a kid and even a bit better than they did on my color TV I got when I was a little older. I also like that the automatic save feature from the GB virtual console carried over into these games. I hope that Nintendo gives devs the option to put Super Nes games onto the 3DS eShop someday as I suspect the smaller, sharp screen will make those games look stunning, too.

My biggest gripe about all of the VC games I've played so far: All of the slowdown and flicker from the original versions still persist, even though the hardware isn't being taxed at all. I know purists probably jizz in their pants when they see all of the flaws carried over perfectly but I would welcome the option to turn on some sort of mode that let these games play without the glitches. And while we're at it, why not let me use the "Y" and "B" buttons instead of "A" and "B" when I play Nes/Gameboy games? "Y" and "B" just feel so much more natural.

Like I said before, these are plenty of time wasters and they didn't cost me a thing. I can't get too mad. Unfortunately, I don't see myself making it to the end of any of them except Super Mario Bros.

Really? I just finished downloading Mario, Zelda and Metroid and am currently downloading Wrekcing Crew. Its taking a bit of time..must be my crappy connection :( I estimate it takes about 2min or so to download one.. but no biggie, waited weeks to get these babies and a few minutes of downloading wont hurt

Although, the process is quite cumbersome..you have to go back to settings and your downloads everytime a download completes...but hey..its free! so what the hey!

Maybe Nintendo's servers are being abused as the news that you can get these games early gets out.  It took me no time.  In fact, with a couple of games, as soon as the animated shopping bag showed up to tell me my download was starting soon, the box that all of those colored thingies would fall into was anywhere from 30% to 50% full.  I bet many of those games were a megabit or smaller.

Could be, but then again, I really do have a crappy internet connection :P Anyways, I finished downloading them all and just finished unpacking them. My 3DS home menu has never looked so beautiful lol!

as for the size of the games, seeing as a 2gig SD card has about 14k blocks, which should translate to about 120-150kb per block, I would estimate that each Nes game would be about 3-4Mb or so. kinda large for an old NES game if you ask me. must be the emulator or something they slap on to these games to make it run on the 3DS. Makes you wonder how large the GBA games will be since a GBA rom is about 4mb already. And here i though that a 2gig SD card would last me a life time lol!

On the bright side, I now have 3 Zelda games (including Oot which i'm about to finish soon, currently at the spirit temple now getting the last medalion thingy. I'm guessing I'm in the last leg of the game seeing as its the last medalion). Now If they can only bring in LOZ a link to the past...
