Recently, I noticed that the word "hardcore" has been abused and had really lost its meaning. So what is the true meaning of hardcore games? And maybe a list of those what you think are hardcore games may be interesting.

Hardcore games are games you devote at least 30 hours to IMO. Keep in note I'm 13, and my opinions aren't valid.

Hard - slang for crack cocaine
Core - A suffix added to words to make them sound cooler

hardcore gamer would probably mean a gamer on crack that thinks himself/herself as cooler than the other gamers.

Yea, Hardcore gamers typically go from game to game. Whether they have mass appeal like GTA or are unpopular like ICO. I view "hardcore games" and "hardcore gamers" differently. Hardcore gamers play as many as games as possible and usually have a big library of software along with multiple consoles, they are typically early adopters. Hardcore games are games that have a very steep learning curve and demands alot of patience and hours from the gamer.
