Microsoft’s announced a “Season Pass” for Gears of War 3 which will bundle all upcoming DLC for the game at a highly-discounted rate.

The pass will allow gamers to receive the first four DLC packs “over the course of the next year,” with a planned release of November for the first pack.

According to Microsoft, those who purchase the Season Pass will get a 33 percent discount on the regular price of the four DLC packs against buying them separately.

As an additional bonus, all Season Pass purchasers will receive an “exclusive Liquid Metal Weapon Set” for free.

The Season Pass will be available for purchase from September 20, the same day as the game’s release date. It’ll cost 2400 Microsoft Points.

Who else remembers back in 2006 when Epic said they will always care for their consumers and they were going to offer FREE DLC? I do. GOW1 had free DLC, GOW2 changed a little, they charged it for some time, but eventually got free. What a bunch of liars. They couldn't keep that promise and they don't care about fans.

I'm with the crowd. I love GeoW as a series but I'm not biting. Last time I bought DLC without knowing exactly what the DLC was going to be (SvR 2011), I got screwed. Besides, I bet this stuff will be XBL Deal of the Week fodder, soon enough.

I'm with the crowd. I love GeoW as a series but I'm not biting. Last time I bought DLC without knowing exactly what the DLC was going to be (SvR 2011), I got screwed. Besides, I bet this stuff will be XBL Deal of the Week fodder, soon enough.

The only thing I hate more than buying DLCs is buying DLCs without knowing what's included.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

The only thing I hate more than buying DLCs is buying DLCs without knowing what's included.

Indeed, I don't think I would do this even for my favourite franchise. That said I bought the Mortal Kombat season pass, but then I knew it would be 4 new characters.
