Forums - General - NFL playoff predictions (who will make the Super Bowl?)

lol @ Cowboys going anywhere this postseason!

Only a Cowboys fan could believe that Romo was "messing around" in any game. The fact is, they have been falling apart. They are playing their worst football of the year at the worst possible time.

The only way the Cowboys make it to the NFC championship is if Seattle beats Washington. I believe the Cowboys playing their worst are still better than the Seahawks playing their best. But, it's all moot. As soon as the Cowboys play the 'Skins, Packers, or Giants they're finished.

My End of 2008 Hardware Predictions (console only):

I'm a big Packer fan, so I'm throwing my hat in for the home team. I think the Pats will go down in the semis.

Well, I'm an NFC guy, so I couldn't care less what happens in the AFC brackets. But let me say this about the Pats; they haven't been all that impressive lately and I think a lot of teams have seen how to beat them. Step one would be: Don't make any mistakes. Colts win the AFC.

As for the NFC:

Giants will beat Tampa Bay (no contest)
Redskins will beat the Hawks (that would make me happy)
Cowboys will beat the Redskins (or Hawks, if the 'Skins don't make it)
Giants will upset the Packers (in a close game)
Giants will destroy the Cowboys (I can't have it any other way)

The Superbowl will be Colts vs. Giants (Manning vs. Manning)

Giants win the Superbowl 41-31

Yeah, I'm a Giants fan, sue me :P

NFC guy huh well that's cool but the team that wins the super bowl will come from the AFC. Two words Bob Sanders if you don't know about him you'll quickly find out soon. The pats will tell you

Redskins have the best track, since they'll be playing Seahawks, Dallas, and either Green bay or Giants, all teams they have beaten or can beat, Dallas is sputtering and probably won't have T.O. at 100%, if he even plays, so they're out, Hawks are a paper tiger, they haven't played a playoff team since week five, so they're not a threat, only reason they are here is because of the easy schedule, Redskins shredded the giants a few weeks back in NY, the only team capapble of stopping the skins is Green bay, and the last time they met it was close.

Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Redskins are garbage. They will lose 1st round, wait and see. And the Giants have a strong defence, but you forget they have one thing that will break them: Eli Manning. I guarentee he wont show up in the playoffs. He'll fumble and throw interceptions like he always has.

This weekend predictions:

Jacksonville beats Pittsburgh.
Sandiego beats Tennessee.
Tampa Bay beats New York.
Seattle beats Washington.

I have to say, I really don't understand why anyone in their right mind can pick an NFC team to win the super bowl. I love the NFC. Two of my favorite teams are in the NFC (GB, WAS), but the NFC still sucks. Yes, they got much better this year, but the NFC simply is far below the AFC right now. It's a tough sport, and the talent is all on one side of the league. It's unfortunate, but I think some people need slap back to reality. The Colts obliterating the Bears last year should have been proof enough guys...

colts vs packers is my guess. the pats will lose to the jags in teh divisional round then get clobbered by indy in teh AFCCG. a few facts that everyone should know that BSPN has not mentioned.

1. NO team that has broken the scoring record has won a SB.

2. NO QB that has the TD record has won the SB.

3. the pats are giving up easily 25 points a game. which is bad very bad.

4. teh colts are still the defending champs till beaten in the PO's this year.

Didn't Manning have the TD record last year? <--that's not sarcastic, I'm not sure if he broke it last year or not

Either way, as for the Redskins... what? They're lucky to even be there. First round loss.

Tampa will clobber the Giants. Manning will throw 3 interceptions and everybody will blame Coughlin...again.

Romo's just been messing around for the last couple weeks. The guy is so care free it wouldn't matter if the Cowboys had lost the last 6 games of the season, he'd still be as fresh and up as ever when the playoffs start. He's over the botched snap, and he'll come out firing this year.

I really don't like the Pats

no peyton manning didnt have the TD record last year it was in 04 that he did that. in 05 they went 13-0 then had a collaspe because of dungy's son commiting suicide and lst year they were ruled out. i agree with you about the giants but the redskins are actually playing really good right now and is on a hott streak. i think coughlin will be fired. the cowboys will go down in a divisional round and so will the pats. the packers will make the SB and so will the colts and it will be farve's last game. and go out fighting as usual and with a smile.

@ talonman when the pats played the colts, the colts were down to 2 WR's no more backup O-linemen and down 3 linebackers and still only lost by 4  points. with everyone healthy again for the playoffs the colts are gonna be a very very very dangerous team.

OMG!!! Dallas loses to the Redskins on a week when they're playing for absolutely nothing - it must be the Redskins' year!!! :|

Redskins are hot - yes. Gibbs is a relic from a time forgotten. He will eventually make another critical judgement call at the worst time. Check back next year, Washington. Yes, they won four in a row, but they HAD to win those games if they wanted ANY shot at getting into the postseason (well, maybe not the last game against Dallas because they were already a lock after the Vikings packed it in - but they didn't know that until kickoff time)

Giants??? Oh please - in EVERY single game they play, there's always a point where Eli turns back into Eli. Look at that Patriots game! I despise the Giants in every way but I was rooting them on (nauseating myself in the process) and, as usual, as the pressure mounted, Eli folded. Of course, they needed to play the Patriots perfectly on a weekend when they were playing for nothing so I'll give them credit for that, but in the end - what cost them that game? Another pick by Eli that gave every ounce of momentum to the Pats - you could feel that entire game shift at that point.

Dallas has been playing like crap since the Packer game - that's a fact. But I also think they've been playing like a team that felt after they beat the Packers, their season was already done and they were just killing time until the playoffs. Terry Glenn is back now with TO lined up on the opposite side - if he can shake the rust, expect ALOT of catches for him as TO absorbs all the double-team (expect another TO meltdown when Glenn gets more attention). And of course, there's Marion Barber - if you're a fan of football, you've gotta love the way that guy hits people.

Green Bay maybe the only 'wild card' - who knows when Father Time will catch up with Brett? They came up short in Dallas, but there is nothing written in stone that says it'll happen again. I don't put alot of stock in the 'Brett never won there' stuff - I've been to Texas stadium and it's not like it's an intimidating place. If you've ever been to a game there, you'd know what I'm talking about - Texas is PASSIONATE about football, but not in the drunken-fan way - they are ANALYTICAL, study formations, and are second-guessing decisions before a play is even run.

Those are my front-runners for the NFC and I see:

2nd round
Dallas 27 - Washington 17
GB 21 - Giants 7

Championship
Dallas 31 - GB 24

In the AFC, it'll eventually be another Colts/Pats meeting. I haven't followed either team that closely (other than the obvious Pats 'undefeated' crap), but I guess I'd have to give the nod to NE.

Championship
NE 35 - Colts 31

SuperBowl
Dallas 28 - NE 24

Not that they aren't playing for anything BS, they played their starters for over a half and Romo's tantrum on the sideline wasn't faked, the cowboys are going to lose big
