god, I thought timed-exclusive DLCs finally died down for good.... >.<

Why would you think that? Look at CoD timed exclusivity. Timed exclusives(dlc wise at least) never left, they are still going strong.

It is as if thousands of Sony fanatics cried out, and suddenly went silent as they tried to come up with a reason as to why this is inconsequential. How this justifies not giving the developer their full support, and what total dicks Microsoft is for making their platform more competitive in a competitive business. Which I am now gladly going to debunk for the hypocritical bullshit it really, and truly has always been.

Absolutely it is consequential to the community. A month can be a eternity. Especially when it is most likely that this games first expansion will arrive during a period of time which will be sparse on the gaming front. Late Winter to early Spring is notorious for having few releases that tend towards being poor in quality. When you have to wait for a expansion to a game you really enjoy while you have little else to distract you it will suck. Traumatic perhaps not, but it will not go unnoticed by many.

They absolutely deserve your full support. Firstly this is a decent developer. Their games offer up both quality and quantity. Their expansions are not light or overpriced either. They are selling a game with over a hundred hours or content, and the expansions they will sell you later will easily offer upwards of twenty hours of content. Denying yourself the purchase is in effect only hurting yourselves. This game will easily consume months of your life, and that is a rare commodity indeed outside of the realm of online shooters.

Microsoft doesn't owe you anything if you aren't a participating consumer. Their job is to get the best promotions for their products, and in doing so they create a better experience for their customers. Your gripe isn't with them. Your gripe should be with Sony for not being more aggressive in procuring special bonuses for the owners of their platforms. In other words do not begrudge the guy that goes above and beyond. Take issue with the guy who is being mediocre. If you feel someone needs to be punished for this take it out on Sony. Send them the message that they need to be if not getting the bonus at least blocking Microsoft from locking these things up in the first place.

Oh by the way I do not think Microsoft bought these rights. I think Microsoft offered up better cross promotion in getting the better deal. They probably intend to advertise this game for their platform. So that is going to save the developer some money on advertising their game. How is it Microsoft's fault that they are better at this then Sony is with their platform. Sony needs to put more muscle into marketing. I still am unclear as to how manufacturers fighting for the affections of developers is a bad thing. It should result in developers having more money to put in to developing their games. To my thinking better games should be what gamers want from the industry.
