Forums - Nintendo - is a new 3DS Redesign really that necessary?

I mean the only thing people continue to complain about is the battery life. Nintendo can always release a battery for the 3DS to expand its battery life. Nyko did it.

No it's necessary ... A steady flow on interesting content is all the 3DS needs. We really have not gotten mucn but a bunch of remakes and Ports that we've played numerous times in the past.

no people complain about the non-too innovative thing that they have to buy which DS seems to be

also games is the biggest factor atm which DS doesn't have

with smartphone competition, they have got to do alot better

No. The only thing that is necessary is the games.

not anymore, steve jobs stepped down.

Looking at the current situation, we can see the price is about right. So the only thing it needs desperately is good games.
I think, announcing redesign right now is just gonna hurt 3DS than help it.

Ask me after I get Kid Icarus. left hander here

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I'm a left hander myself and I've had no trouble playing the 3DS so far, although the only game I've got is Ocarina of Time 3D.

I don't see why a redesign should be necessary at this point in the life of the 3DS. Probably a few years from now, they could do a XL version (which I would buy in a heartbeat), because the size is a bit bothersome to me (I've got large hands). Other than that, the 3DS is perfect the way it is.

I'm death incarnate with Resident Evil Mercenaries on my 3DS (I use FPS style control setting) and I didn't have any camera problems with the camera in Legend of Zelda. I also didn't have much of a problem with my PSP games and their camera. Yes, a second analog would have been nice but I don't see it as a problem at all. Even on the old DS Phat, just putting camera controls on the touch screen worked like a charm for me when I played Mario 64 DS.

I don't think there will be a redesign. I think this is the result of rumor mongering created in an attempt to stop the 3DS from gaining momentum.

I don't think a redesign is needed at all - people are claiming doom too early, when Christmas will be fine for the 3DS.
