Forums - General - What is the current stereotype of British people?

bad teeth, dry comedy, good wizardry would be the top 3 stereotypes i think of.

Around the Network

The stereotypes in American cartoons (Family Guy, etc..) about England are pretty much bad teeth. Also, that is hard to understand what the hell they are saying sometimes (many words are used differently between USA and England).

Basically the only thing that gets to me is trying to understand English people in movies. I pretty much have to put subtitles on to understand it fully. It is just the way the words slur together that it seems like gibberish to me.

So by this map I see you as tea drinking crumpet eating queen loving two story buses riding people. Sorry you all can't be like germany with it's nazis, sauerkraut and beer loving people.

I lol'd at Spain- la cucaracha, bullfights, fiestas, soccer

and Italy-pizza and mustaches

But I actually see British people as polite, with funny accents, and with a weird laughter .

Don't they wear boxing gloves and have handle bar mustaches?

Could have sworn one challenged me to a fight and to act like a gentlemen.

It's just that simple.

Based on TV here, bad teeth, tea sipping, inappropriately formal at times, regurgitated English, and dry humor and they all would die for the Queen is pretty common.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Sexually extroverted.

I didn't realise that english accents were that sexy until I went to Canada recently.

I think this is more accurate:

Depends who you ask, their is ofcourse stuff that can get you banned (guess that accounts for every country)...

Overall I hear the most 'Grumpy and boring'..

Grumpy because every British wakes up full with energy to have a great time at the beach but one feet outside and they remember that they live in the UK where you already may be happy that it doesn't rain for a day and the temperature reach +20 degrees so he goes back in home complaining while drinking his tea and watching some BBC show full with actors who are playing stereotypes of an other country that he already saw a hundred of times. Going out means getting some fish ships and have a fight because someone said something wrong about your team! Overall British are grumpy because of the to cold summers and the to warm winters (think Gordon Ramsay)

Boring because UK(britain) gets associated with boring stuff, drinking Tea, Museums, Buckinham Palace, Big Ben, Oxford while the rest of the world wants hot weather, beaches and women who wear whole day their swimsuit...

Not that I agree ofcourse but their is probably some truth in it people being grumpy during the winter is a worldwide phenomenon.

Bad Teeth and tea and crumpets not bad compared to other countries.
