Forums - Nintendo - Are Japanese third-party developers working on new 3DS games?

I can't remember when was the last time that Weekly Famitsu announced a new game for 3DS. The support from Japanese third-party companies seems non-existent which is extremely worrying since we already knew that Western companies don't want to develop for Nintendo systems, let alone a portable Nintendo system.

Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition, Winning Eleven 3DSoccer, Ridge Racer 3D, Samurai Warriors: Chronicles, One Piece: Unlimited Cruise SP, Tales of the Abyss and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D sold well, the only sizable bomba was (unfortunately) Dead or Alive: Dimensions.

Meh, I'm demoralized. I never saw this coming when the successor of the best-selling console in Japan was announced.

I don't follow Famitsu, but here ARE lots of games that we know about that are in development. If I would have had the time, I would have come up with a list, but I don't have the time to look the names up, sorry.

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

No need to be depressed, :P. I mean, it's almost certain that 3DS will follow in DS's footsteps in Japan, if nowhere else. The third party support ought to follow.

there is a thread somewhere that lists all known 3ds and vita games.  forget exactly who and my search failed but maybe someone else can dig that thread up.

Ah great, thanks. That's quite a list for the 3DS, and I believe it may even be missing a few.

Question is will it be 2006-2007-2008 Japan or 2010-2011 Japan ? :D

But on more serious note ringing alarm bells before TGS is way too early. If no games are annouced there it will be right time to hit the panic button.

A question we'll likely have answered at Nintendo's pre-TGS event, i'd say

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

as someone still on the fence between the 3DS and Vita I'd say that recent news is making it look like the Vita will have much more support, at least initially.

Famitsu are currently unveiling one exclusive after another for the system, the first of which being none other than a LKS sequel!!
That's some megaton shit, right there!

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

The choice of LITTLE KING'S STORY going to Vita is puzzling, but I'm not that worried; there are still plenty of 3rd party games coming to 3DS; the price cut is DEFINITELY helping the system (so far), and in the end it may turn out to be the big-seller just like its predecessor was.  So yeah, 3rd party support guaranteed.
