I can't believe ANYBODY is falling for this rumor. This is just a rumor, not a fact. Iwata-san isn't going to step down any time soon, how can anyone believe that this is actual news?

People believe in what they want to be true not what’s actually true

I guess, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen.  From what I've seen, Iwata is a very humble president, and I just don't see him being ousted from Nintendo as this "article" claims.

Well I still maintain that that site is NOT even worth one second of anybody's time. Until Nintendo makes it official (which isn't very likely) I say take this with a grain of salt and move on, this is nothing to get worked up about.

That is the problem there, believing that's what entertainment it for. It's the same as believing all entertainment is to uphold and maintain moral values.

"This action film doesn't culturally enrich its viewers! It should be thrown in the trash!"

Both are fallacies that just make entertainment worse.

Agree! I see nothing wrong at all with him in fact I’ve never seen anyone act like he does because of bad sales of a product. I mean who would lower his income because he made a mistake?

If you ask me the only mistake Nintendo made was not releasing their big guns at the start of the 3DS launch and instead gave 3^rd parties room to release their games so they could get more sales before the Nintendo games came out.

I think Nintendo should just buy a couple of developers and go on it alone and who ever wants to fallow them then they are welcome!

A lot of people hate Nintendo yet they want their games on other platforms if they step out of the hardware business.    

The fact that Iwata is even making steps to improve 3rd party relationships also shows how much of a humble person he is, too.  Granted, he still has work cut out for him in terms of proving that their products CAN sell on their systems, but I believe that once 3DS sales pick up, 3rd party publishers will come running back.  That said, there ARE some promising 3rd party titles on the 3DS coming up that I DO think will help the library—Kingdom Hearts 3D, Metal Gear Solid 3D (even though it's a port), RE: Revelations, Beyond the Labyrinth... those title sound like promising hits for 3rd parties if you ask me.

As for WiiU, well, it's still quite a long way off, so we don't know how it'll be yet, but my guess is that if anyone can help make it accessible and profitable, it's Iwata.  He's not perfect, but he's in no way a bad president.  At least he's not as tight-fisted or bullying as Hiroshi Yamauchi.

No, not "other", because that still implies entertainment involves that at all. You want to improve the quality of life? Cure a disease. Make and invention that makes our lives easier. Improve education. Etertainment is NOT about that. In case you are wondering what its true purpose is, look at the root of the word.
