"When your business is entertainment and your end goal is improving quality of life"

That is the problem there, believing that's what entertainment it for. It's the same as believing all entertainment is to uphold and maintain moral values.

"This action film features sex and swearing! It should be banned!"

"This action film doesn't culturally enrich its viewers! It should be thrown in the trash!"

Both are fallacies that just make entertainment worse.

please explain, what is entertainment's purpose then?
(other than improving quality of life...)

No, not "other", because that still implies entertainment involves that at all. You want to improve the quality of life? Cure a disease. Make and invention that makes our lives easier. Improve education. Etertainment is NOT about that. In case you are wondering what its true purpose is, look at the root of the word.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
