So, I've got Xbox 360 today, pre owned arcade, and the salesman at gamespot said Microsoft gives 1 month free trial and when i begin to sign up, they said i would get some kind of welcome gift. After I signed up, I didnt got crap. I assumed they would send something on my hotmail, but all i got is netfilx offer and no free trial. Do they automatically set you on Gold when you sign up, or do you have to do something yourself, like reedem a code or something? Please answer quick

If you sign up through the dashboard you should get 1 month automatically. Check xbox.com and click on 'My Account'. It should say Gold Trial on membership details. Or try downloading the warhammer demo, as that's currently gold only.

As soon as your profile is complete, you get 100% of everything. I think there's a limit to the number of free trials, though (six, I think). If you don't get one then maybe the previous owner already exhausted all of them.

Oh, and you're probably going to need an HDD or, at least, a flash drive. I'm not positive but I think so. Give Microsoft a call to check on the number of free acounts AND the need for an HDD.

Sign in.  Look at your Avatar.  It should say Xbox Live Gold under your recently played games.  When you made your profile, it should have asked you for your info.  If you didn't do any of that, just press the "Guide" button (That big, silver button in the middle of your controller) and choose "Join Xbox Live".  Fill in the blanks.  You should be Gold, automatically.  I think you can repeat this process six times but you'll have to make a new profile each time.  That's six free months per console......but since your console is used, you may have anywhere from five to zero free months. 

And, again, I'm not sure how many profiles can get the free month.  I think it's the first six.  After that, everybody is automatically silver.  I'm actually amazed that you're having trouble.  My 11 year old nephew made a profile and he's an idiot.
