Forums - Microsoft - Halo 4 pre-production animations from 343 Industries?

Vicariousgames

Master Chief is all set to return in 2012 placing him in the position of a brand new trilogy, while it may have been announced at this years E3, the game has been in development for a significant amount of time.

Nate Walpole who has been working with 343 Industries since 2008, put up this showreel showcasing a per-visualization concept from a game which he was working on (which could be Halo 4). Since he does not allow embedding videos, we suggest you go visit his video page to take a glimpse at the awesome animations he put into the reel

Here are a few screen caps from the video, where he lists the following "PreVis Animation** to concept story direction for an unannounced property. One of many sample and 'throwaway' ideas as story and direction on the project developed, matured and changed."

Now if we look at this reel, the assets clearly show us that it is from a Halo game. What it looks to us is that this may be either a snippet from a pre-production concept of Halo 4 or another game which was set in the Halo universe

Clearly there is a graphical drop when Bungie left the HALO to 343.. not unexpected...

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Wow Halo 4's graphics are gonna suck!

i hope the above posters were joking. This is the process devs have to go through to make animations. they are suppose to look like that

Why would we be joking about something so serious?
