Yeah I was going to add the clothing part, but I felt it was unnecessary for what that guy was asking. But stoning is not said or implied in the Quran; isn't the Hadith the words of the prophet and Aisha? Muslims don't have to follow everything said in the Hadith. And i know Dubai and Abu Dhabi are part of the same country (I've been there) but they're both different states with their own leaders and they have different economies too. I always get confused about the UAE, but whatever >_>

Well, I assume he's also asking about tight clothing, which exposes the figure of a woman, so I thought I'd clarify on that. As for the Hadith, for the most part that's true (it's Sunnism/practicing the Sunnah mainly that's not mandatory).

All of them. Religions are hokey. I dont understand how any adult can believe in one. Its like being an adult and believing the tooth fairy or Santa is real.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

The household and the congregation. Absolutely. I'm not suggesting that the bible degrades women. Women have their role just as men have their role. Each has responsibilities, but in our modern society some so called progressives have chosen to blur the lines between males and females in the church. I'm simply pointing out the flaws in most modern christianity.

In christianity women were actually considered to be inferior to men. Don't know about actual scriptures, but if you read works of some notable christian philosophers, you'll see that they considered animal excrements above women. The reason why the lines have blurred in churches today is because churches don't wanna alianate people (youcan't get away with treating women as being inferior nowadays).

Now i'm going to need to see citation on that one

The part in Christianity (Catholics?) where they say that priests must remain celibate, but condone allowing them to have sexual relations with little boys.

You're confusing "permitted by the Bible" with "permitted by the Catholic establishment".

The beliefs of the Catholic church do not match up with the writings of the Bible, because it's a long book and you can't really remember all of it and it contains so many contradictions that you would probably create a singularity if you tried to follow it and because some of that stuff is kind of inconvenient (giving away all of your possessions and such).

The thing is, if you accept Christianity as the true word of God, it has to all be correct. But perhaps when you see something worrying in the Bible (not you specifically, but people in general), your first thought should not be "I bet I can ignore this because context and society and blah" but rather "would a loving God really say this?" And then if you accept Islam or Judaism as the true word of God, and it's the same God, well, you run into even more problems.

For that reason, all of the Abrahamic religions make no sense to me. Perhaps that's because no other religion's followers seem to take their religion as literally as Christians, Jews and Muslims. See this chart:

I only have one word to those christians that speak bad about Islam:

Crusades

That doesn't mean that Islam is not evil. It's just that your religion is fucked up too.

Scientist can't prove the big bang either. Everything is just a theory.

Why is the big bang theory so debated at a religious level? I mean, I know it doesn't go against my religion (Islam), but does it conflict with Christianity?

Islam. Is it the eastern version of Mormonism where wannabe alpha males marry submissive wives who want to be abused with their misery condoned by the religious text?

How about the treatment of women wanting to be equal to men, homosexuals wanting to lead a life of dignity and adulterers expressing their marital dissatisfaction in Islam? Why is their misery and death by stoning accepted by the religion while any military movement by Israel is considered justification for jihad?

I have never understood Islam and would love to understand what I consider are gross, unapologetic hypocrisies from those who prescribe to the Islamic faith.

You are aware that christianity was like that not too long ago, right?

Christianity still is depending on how far you drive out in the country. Hell, for me all I need to do is go home to get a heavy dose of evangelical, the Bible will answer all your doubts bullcrap.

As far as the treatment of women as equals, treating homosexuals with dignity and forgiving those who have engaged in adulterous conduct, I would take the Southern Baptist from Mississippi over the Sunni Muslim from Riyadh anyday of the week. The Baptist may give me a good lecture, but he sure as crap won't take my sister out into the middle of nowhere during the middle of the night and cut off her nose just because she tried to escape an unhappy marriage.

Religion didn't really solve things though. People still killed eachother, just sometimes they didn't kill people of the same religion. Religion didn't make a contribution to further differentiate between groups of people (the result being religious conflict).

Hence why I said humanity is just that sick.

Although I don't completely agree regarding not making a contribution to unifying the people. Like for example, Egypt was once one of our biggest enemies in history. I believe contemporary Egypt speaks for itself.

But we will never erase our animal instincts, no matter how hard we try.
