pretty damn positive about that to be honest. I don't see how it'll do under 4. 3 million easily in NA and 1 million from the rest of the territorries.

4m week 1,are you sure about that

US pre-orders are at 1.75 million right now with still another week to go. So 3.8-4 million seems like a pretty safe bet.

really,i thought it would be more like 5m in 10 weeks

gears of war 2 did 4.3m in 10 weeks and 2m in week 1

i guess i don't know what i am talking about

Yeah with the extra 6+ weeks it will have to sell it should easily do it. I mean come on, its Gears of War, its only the best TPS of all time (IMO).

Hell I have 2 of the Gears 360s preordered (one for my brother) and the Epic Edition preordered.

Also it has 6 extra weeks of salestime more than Gears 2 did which should definitely help it.

By the looks of things Gears 3 may end up tracking similar or slightly below Halo Reach.

 

And I could be wrong about this but it seems that Gears sells a better percentage in Europe/Others versus Americas than Halo games do.

Similar, probably a little better, I forgot that Gears released in November last time, but I don't really expect the 3rd game to pick up many new fans. The 2nd game was so good, I don't really see what the 3rd will do to convince those who didn't want 2

Gears 2 did get a fair amount of bad word of mouth at launch though, due to the jacked-up match-making and lag in multiplayer.

I think the combination of the beta, and positive word of mouth, along with the quality of the offering (Solo, Campaing co-op, Beast, Horde 2.0 and Multiplayer) suggests that Gears 3 would outperform Gears 2.

Now as far as 6 million in 3+ months?  I think it will be very close to that, if not slightly over by year end.
