This game looks like it could really define hybrid gameplay with motion controls and a traditional controller. Also, 360 actually has some awesome exclusives coming out next year (some may be this year), and a lot of them are brand new IPs for the 360.

Finally MS seem to be investing a good amount of money to diversify their games collection, good time to own an Xbox.

Yea but with the Wii U coming in 2012 and likely a PS360 sucessor in 2013/2014, is it really worth paying $150 for a Kinect? Project Dragon, Steel Batallion, Fable, Ryse, and others are all looking really cool, but still. I wish MS didn't put such a huge focus on Kinect.

Yea, I know what you mean exactly. But I would say there's at least 2 more solid years until the nextbox is released and Kinect prices have gone down quite a bit, at least here in the UK (but then again it was much higher than US to begin with). Tbh, I do want to try out new IPs because as consumers we should be, but there are so many polished sequels of 3rd party titles, it really is hard to go out and buy kinect when I could be buying at least two new games for the same price.

Well, at the very least, if all else fails when the nextbox comes out with kinect integrated (hopefully), we will have some decent motion control/hybrid titles to backtrack.

Am I the only one who thinks this could easily be done with the PSeye? Just saying.

Yes I'm serious. Explain to me why I'm wrong.

Do some research. PSeye has no depth, no extensive voice controls via software, not as extensive tracking software.

Since you admit that two of the three reasons you provided are purely about software anyway, I can concentrate on the remaining errors in reasoning.

First of all, I couldn't find any proof that the game is actually using voice commands. Furthermore, chances are it doesn't even use Microsoft's skeleton tracking software either, since that causes lag and overhead and is thus unnecessary if a Kinect game doesn't map player movements 1:1 to an on-screen-avatar.

So what's remaining of your reasons is that Kinect is capable of sensing distance. While that's of course true, you don't give any reason why you consider distance information necessary for this game.

try and pull a lever in 2d, plus yes it's software paired with hardware. Makes the tools better for developers to actually use and implement. It's a better package. Plus the microphone array in the Kinect are much better for actual game play use. It can hear your commands even with a loud music and sounds happening. With new updates, the skeletal tracking is supposed to be able to track individual fingers. Do you think this won't use voice commands?
