Alright so this is getting a little Sci-Fi but the question is could the Earth's human race actually fight a war against extra terrestrials? If an alien mothership entered our atmosphere would we stand a chance in hell of fighting it off? Could even the mighty US Army, Nato, Russia, China could any of us stand a chance seperate or united in a fight against an alien life form?

If a species could travel light years to our planet would their technology give them a major edge over anything we have to fight them with?

What kinds of stratagies do you think the human race could take to actually fight off an alien invasion?

If aliens had the technology to come to Earth, there is no chance in hell we would be able to deal with them.

even if aliens existed,they would have a different dimension

they should have developed around the same time as earth did from the beginning of the universe and have the same kind of materials as us to even realize that they are there

Why? I like to compare technology to developing for a console. Sooner or latter you are going to hit an obvious physical limit. What if guns are indeed the best way to kill someone, that neat carbon nanotube fiber never overthrows steel, antimatter drivers are too expensive even for interestelar travel?

Hell, think of the ammount of stuff that has been "30 years into the future" since 1950. Even sci-fi seems more aware of what is and what isn't possible for us. Notice how Avatar and Mass Effect seem much closer to us, even Crysis 2 in a way, since this thread is more about it.

Compare to the american colonization if it's worth anything. Europeans were two thousand years ahead of most native american people and still had lots of reasons to fear them. If it wasn't for smallpox colonization probably would never have happened.

And all of that assuming there's a more advanced civilization somewhere within our reach and they intend to conquer us for whatever reason. Life is probably fantastically unlikely and nothing guarantees us that another sentient species would have our needs, chance, dumb luck and psychological profile to develop a high-tech civilization. For all we know there could be six Na'vi planets around the galaxy and that's it.

I think we are much further from being able to travel to other stars than when Europe fought against Native Americans. It's like if we sent the US army now to deal with native Americans.

If they can come here then they can launch a million nukes on us from, say, the moon and there's absolutely nothing you can do against that.

god created humans and we were perfect (except for the colored ones, and any female, and liberals of course .. but the point is i'm perfect) so god never created again.  ...or at least that's what my daddy told me right before beating me for asking such a flippant question.

read einstein's time theory,there is no way of aliens being formed as they would not int he same time as us in the universe to form life.

races are developed through generations,darwin knwoledge is correct that we all evolved from the same thing and started as one.

we could have humans migrating to different planets and think the people on one planet are differnt from other planets like we do with the races as evolution will take place after some time.we will think them as different people like we do with the races.

If they just crash land on earth and charge at us heads on like bunch of brutes as shown in all these dumb ass alien invasion movies, then yes we may stand a chance, but since they're obviously more advanced than us why would they not use any advanced tactics at all? if they have super duper mega advanced space ships, why would they want to give us a fighting chance by engaging us in the atmosphere? they can just blast us from the orbit above.

In a more realistc invasion scenario, the aliens will gather information on us first, and design a perfect attack plan, they will not reveal themselves until they're ready to execute their plan. our satellites will be the first targets, once they're down we will fall into a world wide communication failure, in the confusion the alien invading force will cripple the countries that are powerful enough to pose threats to them. All political and military leaders of the USA, China and Russia will be disintegrated before they know what the fuck is going on, followed by the missile launchers and airports, the aliens will know precisely where they are according to their intel, once these are gone we're pretty much done for, conventional military is useless since they're attacking from the orbit. then they will systematically wipe out our defence and go on to enslave us or take our water or do whatever they want like using earth as their new holiday resort and keep us as sex slaves.

The right question is why a civilization that mastered such high technology and commands power enough to bring an invasion army to Earth would bothers to invade our planet? Except for biological assets, anything we have they could easily get somewhere close to their home.

Anyway, those small insland nations in the Pacific have a much better chance against an USA invasion than we would have against the aliens.

The human race can only travel to the moon, and some other planets that are relatively near, so if the aliens can travel from another galaxy/universe to earth, that means they have the technology to kick our human a$$es if they want to.

Aliens most probably come here to kick our a$$ when they realize we have the tech to colonize other planets. Because by how the human species behaves, it would be better to eradicate it before stupidity takes over the galaxy.
