The whole reason they went with flash instead of a hdd is to reduce load times.....  It certainly wasn't cost concerns as flash is more expensive.  Since Nintendo has no need to cut the Wii price, I think an upgrade in internal memory is actually likely to happen.  Maybe to coincide with the DVD model (which I doubt will ever get released)?

Well, flash memory cards are slower for transfer rate than hard drives, so can you find something that gives the transfer rate for the Wii's flash memory that says it's faster?  And it's not like you'll be installing much for games when you only get 512MB.  

As for costs, 512MB flash memory is $8 to purchase so I'm sure it costs less than $5 to make. It's most likely cheaper than including a hard drive.

I think a DVD model probably won't happen...mainly because Nintendo will consider that as even more of an opportunity for easy piracy.

 The Wii's drive is a DVD drive. It just doesn't have movie playback. Adding that wouldn't increase piracty risk any more than it is.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

HD-DVD model.

ONLY in japan.

like panasonic-q. 

it will cost about 350/400$ .

 

A new wii version  with more storage it's impossible.

an external storage could be,but not in immediate future.
