Yes, there are new ones all with HDMI, but not sure if EU or UK has all of them yet.

Plus there are the new 65nm ones, when are they out?

i got the original premium back around launch time. No HDMI though :(

About Elites -

Elites launched in April 2007. They have, at a minimum (even the oldest Elites), the 2nd heatsink.

However, some did not have Falcons, but they do have HDMI Outputs, as that was a special thing that Elites had when they launched.

The newest version Xbox 360s - all models - have HDMI, Falcons and such. The primary difference now is just the HDDs, and color.

As for making sure you get the newest one - it's very simple - just look at the unit your preparing to buy, and see if it has a 175 watt battery "brick".

If it has that 175w, your guarenteed the newest model Falcon X360 with the BenQ DVD (best kind), 2nd Heatsink and 65nm components.

The likelyhood of picking up a random Xbox 360 and it being the various models, atleast IMO would be:

Arcade Model - 100% (Arcades were made after revision)
Premium - 70%+ (totally dependant on how quick your store moves it's stock)
Elite - 80%+ (smaller manfacturing pool and brisker sales should mean more likely)
Halo 3 Edition - 95%+ (as far as I know, all were post-Falcon, but I could be wrong).

Your best bet is a true Arcade model at the moment, but I'd tend to think that by now, the vast majority of any given model is pretty high.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

@ Mrstickball, hang on, so it is luck whether or not you get the HDMI port on your premium 360, or is the HDMI port separate to whether or not it is falcon?

Well I want to get the Elite. Sorry I know I'm a little off topic here but it is interesting reading what other people did.

I want the Elite for the 120Gb drive and I like the black look, but price!!!!

Skin a Premium, get a decent value pack but keep the smaller drive seems the better option. I like some of the bundles available here (UK) but I want a guarantee that its the newer SKUs.

The elite has the exact same hardware as the current premiums and even arcades, with the exception of the 120GB hard drive.  Also, the failure rate is no different.

But, hey, if you want to pay $100 extra for a black paint job, I'm not going to stop you.

Hence my delay in buying one over the current confusion of models.  UK didn't start getting Elites until end of Aug so your %s must be lower here as sales so quite as strong here.

I expect another price cut this year hopefully this should coincide with the new 65nm models.

I bought an elite on their launch day; Love it and haven't had a problem (except getting my wife off it so I can play, she's a Zuma and Tetris addict).

I got a Core model on Christmas 2005. I bought a 20 GB hard drive the next day.

I got the Elite as a birthday present(my birthdays in early May) I'm not sure what chip I got to be honest is there any way for me to tell?

I got an Elite, came packed in with Forza 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, we also got some Golden Compass game which sucks. I haven't played it, but I know it sucks because I saw my sister play it. Trust me, don't buy it or play it. Ever. I don't know what my parents were thinking.
