Eventhough I told my Brother not to, he still went and bought an Action Replay card and lo and behold, son of a gun ain't workin'.

It's on a DSxL if that makes any difference and when you try to load it up all it says is "error", please restart the DS. Anyone know why? I know nothing about AR cards and DSs so...

So he is using the DSiXL? I thought that AR cards were only for 3DS.

On the card, it says DSi so...I dunno O.o

I assume you are talking about AR cards and not Action Replay device (like a Game Genie).  The AR cards are only for 3DS while Action Replay device is available for DSi.

I think the AR card itself is defective because there's lots of videoes opn youtube with cards working on DSs

So are you talking about Action Replay device that lets you cheat in games or are you talking about the AR cards that you put in front of the 3DS and play games with?

He's talking about an action replay.

They are crap. It happens. You would be much better off just getting an R4. Much nicer, and accomplishes the same thing

Yea, I should have known since you spelled it out in the thread title but when I saw AR cards in the op I got a little confused myself.   Not sure about these type of devices since I don't use them but I know of a  friend that uses the R4 card to play a bunch of games.    So perhaps he should have gotten a R4 instead of Action Replay.
