when it takes 2-3 weeks for public awareness to kick in for the wii price drop sales increase, it's amazing how quickly and dramatically the 3DS price-cut awareness seems to be kicking in.

otherwise, decent week. wii, ps3, 360 all up a bit WoW.

It's been advertised and talked about a lot more I imagin, new console, nintendo doom and gloom financials, dramatic cut.

OT: I like my numbers fast, this is good!

Why are ppl buying LBP after it was given away for free after PSN outage and after LBP2 was released?

The LBP audience are the same people that never heard about the free games, though it's numbers still look a bit off.

Whats with the Medal Of Honor 360 boost?

Did it get marked down to $5.00 or something?

I now it's $5.00 on Orgin/EA store this week

Love the game, have it for Steam, would play it if it wasn't for all the hacks and lack of DLC/Maps

Not sure if this is why but I did notice that Medal Of Honor price has dropped to $19.99 on all major online outlets recently; amazon, gamestop, bestbuy, newegg.

Im guessing that was part to do with the increase in sales. Unless the price drop was farther back than Im remembering.

And Catherine had a huge drop...

For a game that niche these numbers are incredible.

yeah, no ... your explination seems plausible.  in my head i was thinking it might be related to the audience that is buying the 3DS.  the "core" tends to be relativily well informed quickly while the "casual" tends to rely on word-of-mouth which is inherently slower to propigate the message.  ah well, all is just speculation on my part.  we'll see what happens post price-cut // post holiday.

God, those 3DS sales are cringe-worthy. I don't even think the price drop will help at this point. I sure hope so, but even the PSP is beating it and the DS is miles ahead.

How can the numbers be up so early?anyway...MK Wii is a monster that will never die.

Especially when It's bundled with every new Wii system. Not all Wii's sold will have MK in it because some of the legacy systems are still out on shelves.

It's just that simple.

Its really interesting to observe how the 3DS has been performing poorly given its a relatively new device with the purpose to replace the DS. Here is my personal take on why:

1. The Name. I think some people hear the name, "3DS" and think, 'ehh It sounds gimmicky, and that its only advantage from the DS is that it has 3D". I think many consumers think its just a DS with 3D and no real graphical improvements. So they pass on it. This has been the impressions of many casual/hardcore gamers I have talked to.

2. 3D Not Fully Adopted. 3D technology is still not a mainstream adoption. When you go to the movie theatres it seems the standard screens are much more filled with people than the 3D screens for many movies. I think many people can't justify the increase price of 3D yet. This also translates into Television sales. 3D TVs are not selling in huge numbers. Its mostly because of cost to desire ratio, and the need to buy the 3D glasses. Most people right now dont see the benefits of 3D TVs for the cost associated with them.

3. Smart Phones, Tablets. There is a growing adoption into smart phone, and tablet gaming. Whether we see it or not the Smart phone/Tablet gaming is taking away from the traditional gaming handhelds. This is going to increase, and many people still see gaming on their smart phone more attractive and easier than gaming on a 3DS.

So, I think 3DS is always going to have a hard time due to these factors. I do, however think the price drop will help, but not for very long. The Wii price drop seemed to help for maybe a couple months. I think a 3DS price drop may help sales for 4 to 6 months. But thats just my thoughts.

well now this is refreshing, i remember when we used to get the numbers starting tues/wed. A return to form hopefully.

Wow that was quick.
Love the constantly good Reach numbers!
