Forums - Gaming - Is Nintendo Stealing From Apple?

"We're not rocket scientists, but we can tell when one product looks strikingly similar to another. And when we looked over the evolution of Nintendo and Apple hardware over the years, we identified some interesting trends. Take a look for yourself and ask: has Nintendo drawn inspiration -- or worse, outright stole -- from Apple's designs, or is it mere coincidence?

"
there are similarities but its most likely coincidental

Some of them are good but the Ipod shuffle and wii remote and the macbook and DS couldn't be more different

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

The only one I would agree is the first one and even that's very debatable. For example the wii mote copies from tv remotes and the ds was rushed and got a redesigned to fit a slim design. I highly doubt they copied. Also the wii u controller was supposed to be the original wii controller but they changed it for whatever reason

Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")
(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true. 2nd UPDATE: I have no Switch 2. I am now behind

Do Not Click here or else I will call on the eye of shining justice on you.

The only one I agree with is the last one, and even then it's not fair to say they copied apple since several different companies are making tablets and I'm not even sure if apple was the first (the most successful obviously)

right.... a few less examples would have been funny, there it becomes too far fetched.

Well, everyone wants a piece from the big pie ,or should I say apple?

#1 and #2 are silly. #3 TV remotes say "Hi!", #4 don't even know what to say, #5 the Game and Wathc had 2 screens and was released in 1983, #6 Apple is not the first company to release a tablet. Even if this was an atempt at humor, it just seems stupid.

North American release dates are the wrong thing to go on, here, when comparing to a Japanese company. Also this ignores the fact that R&D takes a damn long time on some of these items

Though it's not too far out there to expect that Nintendo is borrowing some of Apple's aesthetic philosophies. Apple stuff looks faux-futuristic, which is really based on a design that is now retro that was popular for everything from consumer products to passenger trains from the late 1930s through the 1950s in the USA

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Nothing of this can be called straight up copying... so no.

edit: Mr Khan said it best

They (IGN) tried real hard to make it seem that way.
