The term, Arcade/retro like games (which I might have made up), is pretty self explanatory. They are games similar or even equivalent to the games found in arcades or old retro game  consoles. Arcade/retro like games that sold extremely well on the Wii include:

-Wii Sports (similar to Pong)

-Mario Kart (similar to Mario Kart in arcades...)

-New Super Mario Bros Wii (Super Mario Bros.)

And possibly more. These games are notable for being the main system sellers for the Wii. The same might be said for the Wii U as well. So any ideas?

Here are a few more genres that fit the term:

- Rail Shooters

-  Stimulated flying games

- Arkanoid

- Tetris

- Pinball

- 2D action shooter

Honestly your comparison's comparing WiiSports to Pong just makes this thread alittle whack. I don't think any remake would particularily boost WiiU's sales. That being said a remake is a remake WiiSports is in no way Pong in any sense. The only title remake I think would do well on WiiU would be a 3D Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow. That thing would sell gangbusters and would definatly boost WiiU sales.

But other then that I can't think of any remake that would really boost WiiU sales. Also keep in mind New Super Mario Bros wasn't a remake either , it was inspired by classical games but not a remake. I'd have to say this thread is flawed in its logic. But its worth posting in I guess.

I never said remakes. I meant games that are similar to arcade or retro like games. New Super Mario Bros. Wii is similar to Super Mario Bros. I didn't say Wii Sports is Pong either. I said Wii Sports is similar to pong. My reason for this is because it's basically a "pong" game in 3D graphics played by motion controls.
