Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone knew any really good safe ways to download music. Before anyone freaks out and tells me "Buy the music!" I do.  Like every week a buy at least 1 new album from Itunes plus tons of individual songs and pre-order cd bundles all the time but I also like to listen to singles and stuff a lot and I was just wondering if anyone knew of anywhere good and safe to download stuff.  Anyways thanks a ton guys.

Wearing a wire? If its against forum rules for Music related sites than just close the thread no biggie to me. I'm a music purchaser all the time not a pirater, just some singles and stuff I wanna download.

Anyways whatevs its not like I'm some noob on the site posting this everyone knows who I am but like I said if theres a problem a mod can close the thread, I'm not asking for Video Game pirating or anything.

Well I use eMusic and although it costs money, you can get the majority of songs from 49 to 79 cents. You can do different subscription amounts too. So a 11.99 subscription can get you like 18 songs or so.

I find the song I want on youtube then I put the link onto this site and the song downloads.

(Me listing this technicaly isn't illegal since you can use it to download the audio from your own videos) 

This is kind of silly to ask, discussing ways to illegally download stuff is obviously not allowed here.

Even without having to do that, you can run a line from your headphone jack right into your microphone jack, and directly record the sound your computer makes (which i've done before. It reminds me of tape-recording the radio, even though i'm too young to really know what that was like)

Your way seems faster though, and it wouldn't have any possible sound quality loss

it basicly rips the audio from youtube videos

just go to youtube video copy and paste the whole URL into the thing and itll rip it then convert to MP3 then it will download then you just drag it into itunes

its really a great because not only can you get the studio version of songs but you can also get live versions

I use a bitorrent called Vuze. I've only downloaded a few songs, so I'm not sure how well it works.

It's also great for downloading movies too! Be sure to only download items with a high rating.

I know you wanted a way to download music for free... but you could always try the Zune Pass. For $15 a month you can download all the music you want, and at the end of the month you get to keep 10 songs forever! Edit: Otherwise I use beemp3.com.
